Good morning. It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad pain night. But I got some sleep and lived to tell about it. More pain today but it’s easier to deal with in the day when there are distractions.

I thought that church might be snowed out but it all turned to rain.

SHE MADE IT WITH LOVE, YOU HEARTLESS, TASTELESS...*unicorn molts it’s fluffiness and screams in primal rage*

Slache and Spud start pulling each others hair and rolling around on the carpet until Mom makes them sit on the sofa and hold hands, whereupon they have the world’s quietest hand squeezing competition.

I just refolded all of the kids clothes because Babiness. I can't wait until Christmas so I can figure out how much of the clothes I can throw away.

Nooooooooooo

Did you get those for him? We still have hope, I'll let you know. I just have to find the screwdriver that the baby put under something.

I love you people. (on my phone, so no multiquote)

I'm supposed to be cooking later today. I'd really rather polish off this second Ellis Peter's mystery and nibble on chocolate, though.

Oh yeah, that's right, I'm thawing meat for soup.  I have to cook today.

Yay!  I get to cook today!

Overtaxed mind feels ambivalent.  I am trying to encourage the yay over the nay.

I was supposed to roast a chicken today, but didn't thaw it. 🤔 Thinking I'm going to have to reschedule that for later this week and make chili and biscuits, instead.

DH made me a farmer's omlette for breakfast AND cleaned up the kitchen. Also, he wants to go to church next week, too, and told the kids about it over breakfast. â¤ðŸ¤˜ðŸ˜Š

Pajama day today. No sense getting regular clothes full of sickness, too.

Everyone gets a round of hugs, and cookies, and coffee/tea/hot chocolate/wine.

What a lovely update.   :001_wub:   Hope everyone feels better soon!   :grouphug:

But which tastes better? And do you know for certain how much of what is in the other applesauce?

I like applesauce, but I love homemade applesauce!

Interestingly enough, I never liked applesauce until I started making it myself. The kind I make is super smooth and almost creamy tasting. Maybe it's the Foley food mill. Recipe here: http://www.pickyourown.org/applesauce.htm

I'm back. We churched. Had a missionary speak today. They've been in Burkina Faso for 30 years. It was interesting.

I'm making soup for lunch. I've been in a real soup mood lately. Southwestern Chicken Barley Soup. Except that I have no barley, so I'm making it with rice. And fresh bread. Batter bread is good and easy to make (no kneading and only 1 rise). Life's been kind of rough lately, so I think I'm in to comfort foods. Plus, the weather has changed, it's much cooler now. Soup weather.

I make mine chunky. I just cook it really good until the apples break down. I may put my potato smasher in there a minute, but I like chunks. I think commercial applesauce has water in it because homemade seems so much more substantial.

Ouch!   :grouphug:  :grouphug:   It still requires time and taping (to another finger) to allow it to heal, but I'm glad it's not broken.

He has to see a hand specialist to hopefully rule out reattaching it surgically. We have no time for that! The ER doctor thought it looked not completely torn off so hopefully splinting will be sufficient.

Baby went to church for the first time today. I wasn't super thrilled w/the idea because he's so little, but DH really wanted us to go since DD was singing. Turns out they had planned a surprise baby shower for today.  :001_wub: I was super surprised b/c we aren't even members.

Found out today in Sunday School that a guy I grew up with was found dead by the side of a road out in the country in a neighboring town. There was no signs of foul play, so they're awaiting the autopsy. I had a high school graduating class of 68 people and 10% have died prematurely, two before we even graduated high school.

I made hard boiled eggs because I want deviled eggs but apparently we're out of mayonnaise.

Alex is running up to his siblings and hitting them with a nerf gun because he doesn't know how to shoot.

Oh, and it was really great to meet up with Ikslo (again!).  And I got to meet her sweet ninja!

It was amazing that we got to meet up.  I was driving hither and yon in Pennsylvania.  I was taking a driving break and called Ikslo to see if we *might* be able to meet up while I was in her state.  She happened to be 5 minutes away.

And Ikslo's friend thought that I was her sister.  :)
