PrincessMommy
You've captured me again with your wily ways. It only started with one spoonful after breakfast on vacation...now I'm up to 3 (or more)!! i..cannot...resist...
Cinder
Resistance is futile! (Or so I hear. I'm not a Nutella lover.)

Ewe Mama
I read that there is a severe shortage of hazelnuts this year due to a poor growing season. Prices on Nutella are going to rise, so stock up now!
G5052
Have you seen the giant container at Costco? 😈 And the price is right. I just bought several for my downstairs pantry.
Ali in OR
Our Winco has the larger 26.5 oz for $4.98 with a coupon display right under it for $1 off, so really $3.98. I'm not helping, am I.

AMJ
I probably should not tell you about Speculoos spread. Ohh, yeah. At Trader Joe's it's called Cookie Butter. Right there is your warning -- highly addictive yummy stuff! I find for the sake of my dietary changes I have to steer well clear of TJ's most of the time. They have too many goodies I can't help but overindulge in.

PrincessMommy
In my defense I did buy LowCarb version. It was nasty...nasty stuff... we hates it. Went out and bought the "real" stuff - for the kids, of course. But, they've all left me for college.
AlmiraGulch
I love Nutella, even though I'm not a big fan of chocolate generally speaking. You know what I don't love? The Hershey's Hazelnut Spread. Awful, horrible stuff. I don't even know how Hershey's can look themselves in the face. Even my chocoholic kids hated it. Truscifi
The Jif hazelnut spread is better than Hershey's. Not as good as Nutella, but not bad. Not that I eat it anymore. Sigh.
Ravin
I like the marantha dark chocolate almond spread. Very tasty, not an insane amount of sugar like nutella has.
PrincessMommy
Ravin, I will have to try that one and see. The sugar amount just kills me... but I love Nutella so much.
shukriyya
Not a nutella fan so I can't commiserate but Cacao Bliss is an option that might allow you to indulge your chocolate spread fantasies without the guilt. It's good stuff! You can actually make your own of this pretty easily, too.
blondeviolin
Nutella might become the new peanut butter in our house. My kids love it on waffles and pancakes better than syrup!
KungFuPanda
Sometimes I get a different brand of chocolate hazelnut spread from the Persian store. My daughter prefers it to Nutella, but I can't remember the name. Her feelings were deeply hurt when we tried the Hershey's :-/

Tammi K
My first experience with Nutella was overseas. I figure they created it, they get to name it, right? It drives me crazy to listen to commercials here in the USA where it is pronounced New-tella instead of Nut-Ella. That is all. :coolgleamA:

They even now have something with is cookie butter mixed with Nutella. It's in stripes so you get both in each delicious bite. While there, I highly recommend the frozen Kouigns Amann. They are like croissants with a caramelized sugar in the bottom. You put them out to rise overnight…and then bake in the a.m. Sooo sooo good. Orthodox6
There IS an alternative to Nutella, and it is one that I prefer, to be honest. There is no milk included, so it can be eaten by EO 365 days of the year. :001_smile: http://justins.com/item/chocolate-hazelnut-butter/
umsami
Around 1:05 you can hear them pronounce it.

Cammie
Never gave it even a second thought before but after sitting here for 2 minutes saying "New-tella" and "Nut-tella" I can confirm that American expats in India (at least one) pronounce it "New-tella." That is all.
gaillardia
I read that there is a severe shortage of hazelnuts this year due to a poor growing season. Prices on Nutella are going to rise, so stock up now! I think that was a false marketing ploy anyway. I have seen it in wally world a lot cheaper than usual. Last week ds18 &ds 22 were in a grocery store and actually NOTICED the price of nutella was 2 for $3, the 26.5 oz. size. They knew they should grab some. Cashier kept ringing it up and it kept coming up the same price, 2 for $3. They were so pleased with themselves. As they were leaving they noticed the manager hustling over to the aisle and changing the price. Somebody goofed.
