laylamcb
Here's my pick. :ack2: Oh, yeah, good one! (I mean, BAD ONE. So bad it's good!) Hmmm.... There were so many rockin' 80s tunes, and then sooooo many clunkers. Let me think about this one.... :001_huh:

laylamcb
making me cringe just thinking about it. Daggone it! After some thought, "We Built This City" was JUST what I was going to post. In 80s-speak, "Gag me with a spoon!" ;) Back to the drawing board... :001_huh:
SkateLeft
"Maneater" by Hall & Oates :ack2: It's so bad, I don't even want to find it on Youtube and link it, because I like you all too much to inflict it on you. Actually, pretty much anything by Hall & Oates goes in my "Worst 80 Songs Ever" file.

Tracey in TX
Gosh, it's hard to choose JUST ONE! My vote is Laura Brannigan's "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" whining mantra. It sends shivers down my spine just typing the words. ewww. Sugar Walls is probably my 2nd choice!
Karenciavo
I spent all day in bed yesterday watching I Love the 80's 3-D and I know I got you beat with this one or maybe it was . :p
laylamcb
I spent all day in bed yesterday watching I Love the 80's 3-D and I know I got you beat with this one or maybe it was . :p Oh. my. gawsh. That was truly the nadir of music, right there--I could almost feel my IQ dropping as I watched those (and I had to stop after about 25 seconds of each). Those represent a swirling, whirling vortex of amusical horror. I bow to you, Karenciavo. I don't think it can get any worse.
Mrs. Readsalot
http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2004-04-18-worst-songs_x.htm When I saw the post... We Built this City was the first song to pop into my head. I have always thought it is terrible. It is so funny that publications agree. Usually know one agrees with my musical opinions. Mom to Aly
If "Achy, Breaky Heart" had been 80's it would have won--I just think it is the all time worst song--but for the 80's it had to be Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time". When my dd was about 4 it was on the radio, and she asked me why the singer wanted to "Potty all the time??"! ROTFL!!!

Mama Lynx
I could not stand that song! I actually love that song! OnTheBrink
I cannot stand Every Rose Has Its Thorn. I know a lot of people really like it, but I think it is corny. NOt to mention illogical. Every rose has it's thorn, every dark has it's dawn, every cowboy sings a sad sad song. Ok, every pretty thing has a down side. Every bad time has it's good time, but every cowboy sings a sad song? Huh? That analogy doesn't demonstrate the good/bad correlation at all. Stupid song.
newlifemom
So basically my entire life in the 80's was garbage according to everyone here. That says so much about me and my life. :D Actually the tv star songs were/are hideous, but pass the duchie, 99 luftballoons, we built this city, hall and oates? I loved those. I know what a geek:tongue_smilie:. I have no taste as my dh will readily tell you. He was a rocker.
AprilTN
I can't think of one worse than Sugar Walls, but a close second would be "Break My Stride" by Matthew Wilder. .....Nobody gonna' slooooww meeee dow-un, oh no, I got ta keep on mooovin! :driving:

laylamcb
I never cared for or how about this one I'd kill to see the looks on the faces of the grandkids of the Dead or Alive lead singer when they first see that video. Mom2legomaniacs
Those were 80's defining songs IMO which sadly, has already been noted as defective.;) Ohh. I just got completely sick of the first one due to its being played ad nauseam on the juke box in the lunch room. Seriously the only song ever played. Every single day. Over and over again. That's why I hate the first one. The 2nd one is so funny with the hair and all. Not really "bad" but more hilarious!

BritAnnia
Too, too funny! My ds (16) just loves your second choice. He'll play it over and over at loud volume and sing out of tune. ARGH! Why'd I ever try to share 80's music with my kids :D
Mom2legomaniacs
DH totally negated my first choice. I said it was way overplayed, that's why I didn't like it. He said, nope, it's a good song.
BritAnnia
Anything by Kate Bush or Samantha Fox comes to mind. Sadly, I recognised Kate Bush singing a soundtrack to a movie my dd was watching recently. Bleugh! WTMCassandra
People used to walk down the hall in my Christian high school singing the chorus. Set my teeth on edge! Still does! laylamcb
OK, people, I got it! Something to rival Sheena Easton--yes, even to give Don Johnson a run for his money.
