melissad2
I can see her now :) A few minutes ago she had her backside to the camera. They have been moving the camera around this morning following her and zooming in.

Guest inoubliable
Looks like they moved the camera angle? We've been watching off and on forever, it seems. I've not seen this angle before. Opening to the paddock, I guess? But it's up so high.
Hunter's Moon
I can't be entirely sure because of the angle, but it looks like she is eating.
Guest inoubliable
DS7 just called me back into the room with "Maman! She backed up through the door! I don't see anything dangling, though!" LOL. I guess we keep watching....

my2boysteacher
Oh, she was just acting really funny! Pacing, rubbing her head on the wall and kept moving her head sharply toward her bottom. Maybe soon?

She was dozing last night, on the ground with her tail and back legs undernearth her and her forelegs bent and splayed. Her neck swayed a little. RoughCollie
 My family has pronounced me obsessed! Does the poor thing ever sleep? All I ever see her do is eat. Giraffes only sleep about 4.6 hours a day. They eat about 75 lbs. of food a day. I suppose a pregnant giraffe would have to eat more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giraffe

justLisa
Now she keeps reaching her neck around and hitting her back/stomach. Contractions, maybe? She did that two days ago and nothing. I'm going to be beyond pissed if they turn the camera off for the actual birth. I can never get the number hours back I have been plastered to the screen
Mom25girls
Now she keeps reaching her neck around and hitting her back/stomach. Contractions, maybe? Oh! We think so too!!!!!
Beetkvass
Now she keeps reaching her neck around and hitting her back/stomach. Contractions, maybe? Lots of thrashing. It reminds me of being in transition and wanting to knock my head against something and lose consciousness. Whatever is going on she is acting VERY weird and this has not been normal behavior over the last week or so I've been watching.
justLisa
Although this time she looks more intense than the last time she was thrashing
LibraryLover
Maybe today. It's the swaying that has me thinking so. lol Is she even pregnant? lol She was eating too much yesterday for baby-having, imo. If she goes for the hay again today, I would say no. I don't think it's likely she would have a baby at night. So, now or never girl. Maybe you only think you're having baby.
hana
She's thrashing again.
RoughCollie
Wow! She definitely had a contraction just now. I've read in several places online that it takes about 2 hrs between the time a giraffe goes into labor and the baby is born; some sites say 2-6 hrs. earthyfamily
Okay this is not cool....I pulled up this thread and thought, how could people sit and watch a pregnant giraffe for hours....and now darn it I can't pull myself away from it!!
