I have a 10 and 11 yo boy and girl. They both love their pillow pets and take them on trips, sleepovers and to lounge around in the floor. The pure joy you will see on their faces will make it worth it.

I work part time in the evenings as well. My schedule varies, sometimes I am home by 8, 10:30 and there will be an occasional midnight. It has been a big adjustment for us as well. I am utitlizing my crockpot more, I don't get up with hubby (just give him a kiss as he leaves), my kids are 10 and 11 so they let me sleep in. The latest I can sleep has been 9. I try to get school going by 9:30 or 10. Making a meal plan has been helpful and I try to get all the prep done for hubby. We try to eat supper together but sometimes I need to leave the house by 4, so they eat and I eat when I get home. I take a 20 minute power nap almost every day. It's my sanity saver. Not getting enough sleep is hard but the naps do help! I usually do it during the kids daily reading/quiet time. Most days we get all the school work done. Making a list for the kids has been helpful. They just check it off while they go. On days where I feel more rested, we attack the extras and get them done. I tell the kids that this is a busy season for our family, we just have to work together to get it all done and do the best we can! good luck

I agree with signs. My husband and I watched it at a drive in surrounded by cornfields. I nearly peed my pants! The exorcism of Emily rose gave me nightmares. I stopped watching scary stuff after that one.

You all would die at my house! We burn wood and the living room can get 85. There are times we have windows and doors open cause it gets so hot lol! Our bedroom stays about 65 so we sleep better when it's cooler. I like a warm cozy house. It's just right about 75:)

Thank you so much for your kind replies! There was no life insurance, their only car was completely totaled in the wreck. Thankfully many people have given her money and we were able to pay half of the funeral expenses with that. Our church is taking up a special offering for her Sunday so I am hoping it will be enough to finish paying the funeral expenses. Our church and another church found a used van for her and each paid half for it, praise God!!! she will have a vehicle at least. She is so grateful for all the help but is in such a fog right now. It's starting to get hard for her this week. She isn't sleeping and is exhausted. The worst thing she could do would be to put the kids in school. The oldest went for one year and it was awful! They both have learning delays and school would be overwhelming for them. I was a ps teacher (in a previous life) :) so I can handle teaching them if I need to. God is definitely carrying her right now. I don't know how she is putting one foot in front of the other. God Bless,McKinsey

Last Wednesday my sister became a widow. My. Bil died in a car wreck. It's been awful for our whole family. We are all close. She homeschools and the children are 7 and 9. They lived on a very very small income. Her husband was disabled and drew a small check. I know the money the kids will get will be very little. We had planned to start school back July 30 but I'm thinking we will need to wait until mid-August. Just to give the kids some time. I am planning on taking over her teaching duties until she feels like she can handle it. Have any of you ever dealt with this? Are there any single widow homeschool mothers on here? I hate to see her hurting and I know she needs time to grieve. Thanks for reading

Our vbs is coming up and I am teaching the preschool 3-5 class. I am seriously stumped on ideas. We are going with a construction theme And our saying is "be a tool in Gods tool belt". I need help with my Lessons. I thought of using a hammer to "hammer" gods word in our hearts Using Moses and the ten commandments. Another lesson is using a saw to Cut sin out of our life. I'm just having serious brain fog Coming up with lessons and ideas. I'm usually quick Thinking but having a major mental block planning Please help!

Only a homeschooled dd would listen to so many audio books involving children from the 1700-1800 period, that everything is "lovely", "grand", and "simply marvelous" now in her conversations with others lol!
