  1. I've actually already been. They said it's just my age and wacky hormones. I can either deal with it or go on birth control. Can't take birth control because I get migraines with aura when I'm on them and that's a massive risk for stroke.
  2. Another thing to mention is that I do have issues with my period. I'm a heavy bleeder and I usually bleed for three months at a time and then take about a month or two off.
  3. Thanks!! :) I would if I could but I'm allergic to eggs.
  4. So it seems like b-12 and iron are the two being suggested as the most possible culprit. I started the B-12 today and will look into the suggestions for the iron. I wish I could get it through leafy greens but my stomach can't handle too much of them. As far as protein goes...I've never really kept up with how much I'm getting. I have been doing a Luna bar everyday for a week or so to help with deficiencies. But other than that...probably don't get protein from a lot of other places. I do have either yoghurt or oatmeal most mornings for breakfast. But I can't do Greek yoghurt because it does something weird to my saliva and makes it super thick when I eat it too often. I know...weird. Thank you for all the awesome advice!! Here's about what my average day looks like as far as food: B: Iced coffee with milk and vanilla syrup, Oatmeal or Yoghurt with berries and granola L: Usually a salad (Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, some cheese, sometimes bacos and usually honey french dressing) or a cheese enchilada or veggie taco with some brown rice S: Usually just some herbal tea and if I'm hungry I'll have a Luna bar D: Whatever dinner is that night (baked potato, tacos, enchiladas with some brown rice, salad) S: I'll usually have a "treat" of some sort, a gluten free rice krispy treat, some italian ice or some chocolate and another cup of herbal tea Don't know if that helps give a picture of what my diet looks like lately. Thanks!
  5. Okay, I know that I'm anemic. I have been pretty much my entire life, mostly because I was born with a premature digestive system so I don't absorb nutrients properly and I've also been vegetarian for most of my life (off and on, but this is the longest stretch at 14 years.) I do have trouble digesting iron supplements...they're VERY hard on my stomach. I did have to go to the hospital once because I was so anemic that I was so dizzy I couldn't even walk straight...the room moved while I was still. I do have a B-12 supplement that I will start supplementing with again...did so a while back for issues that I can't remember. I can't take an all around B supplement because I can't take Biotin. I'm 35 BTW. Edited: I also can't eat eggs and dairy is very hard on my stomach so I limit that a bit.
  6. So for health reasons I had to go gluten-free. Overall my body feels better gluten free....but I am craving meat like crazy all of a sudden. I've been a lacto-vegetarian for 14 years now and the last time this happened was when I was pregnant with my son...P.S. No not even a chance that I'm pregnant. It's super annoying though. Is this a normal side effect?
  7. Common Sense Media might be helpful. Doesn't have everything, but does have quite a bit. I use it all the time when looking up books and movies for the kids.
  8. This has always happened to me....I always just figured it was a PH thing...?
  9. I know this thread is a little old, but I wanted to add that I started watching a new Japanese rom/drama on Netflix this week. It's called Mischievous Kiss 1 (which is season 1) and there's a season 2...not sure if the show ends or if it was canceled. But I'm enjoying it. Not as much as Good Morning Call, but it's still pretty good. It seems a little sillier than GMC though....and I didn't fall in love with it at first sight...I had to watch 2 or 3 episodes before I really got into it. I hope they keep putting Japanese shows on Netflix....love it!
  10. I was anorexic from the time I was 13 until I was almost 17. I would look at what she is eating throughout the rest of the day, maybe she just isn't hungry come dinner time? I too would be really curious to find out her reasoning for not wanting to eat dinner. Based on my experience, if one of my children suddenly didn't want dinner anymore, I would jump on that pretty quickly and begin working on solutions. When I was anorexic, dinner was the one meal that I would eat. My mom never cooked though, so it was always something that I had to come up with on my own. All said and done I'd end up with about 400 calories by the end of the day usually. And exercise played a huge role in my life as well. I was constantly exercising. Has there been any change in that area? Even behind closed doors maybe? I would always exercise in private. I did have my own room though...but on average I'd try to get in about 3 hours a day.
  11. Thanks guys, I've got lots of info and ideas to work with here. I really think they are trying to just get rid of me....like I said, it isn't the first time something like this has happened. They just don't like homeschoolers.
  12. Not trying to find out where to take the SAT, I know we are assigned that when we sign up. We are enrolled with an umbrella school. I kept trying to tell them that the College Board says the local school counselor is the one submit for a fee waiver, they finally came back with "oh, tennessee doesn't do that for homeschoolers." This isn't the first time I've had an issue with this district not wanting to respect the rights of homeschoolers.....they just don't want to deal with us. So I didn't know for certain if this them trying to blow us off again, or if Tennessee really doesn't do fee waivers for homeschoolers.
  13. Yes, I'm aware. But I was told regardless of meeting requirements, that Tennessee itself does not do fee waivers for homeschoolers. This is what the website says in regards to homeschoolers: "If you’re home-schooled, you can get fee waivers by contacting a local high school counselor. Just provide proof of eligibility, such as tax records or proof of enrollment in an aid program like those listed above."
  14. I've been told my local school counselor that homeschoolers in Tennessee are not eligible for the SAT fee waivers that the College Board offers. Any idea if this is actually true, before I spend a lot of time pursuing it? Thanks so much.
  15. My three favourites for jeans are: Old Navy's Sweetheart cut, Torrid's Skinny/Short and Target's Avi and Viv line. I'm 5'3".
