I've never heard of this one. Where might we see it? I don't see it on netflix.

ETA: Nevermind! I just found it on the Science channel, on our DVR! I'm recording a few to check it out.

Except he had a very negative reaction on the email group to watching science tv shows/videos. ;)

Was this any science-type show/video or just the more cartoon ones? I just find this bizarre. Science is a very visual endeavor. I love having access to all kinds of science videos - so much better to see than to read. (well we read too but you know what I mean). You can read about a shark, but seeing one on a video in it's natural habitat... amazing. Or a cave... or a volcano etc.

I think his problem was actually in how the video was used. He objected to a student being "taught" by a video, by itself, with an uninvolved teacher. He was okay about videos as review but pointed out, if a person knows something already, is there significant value in review. As I recall, he was not familiar with the actual video in question.

My boys loved Team Umizoomi (preschool math). Surprisingly, they learned a lot from Dinosaur Train as well. When people heard my 4yo using the words "hypothesis" and "nocturnal" correctly in conversation they thought it was because I was a science teacher. Nope, he learned it from a cartoon!
