Is this common when getting vaccinations? JAWM
MomToJazmyne replied to bodiesmom's topic in The Chat Board
I'd be flabbergasted at that wait time for a well check as well. Last week, I called Monday to get an overdue well check done for my daughter. They made us an appointment for that Wednesday. -
Do you belong to a homeschool library...
MomToJazmyne replied to kolamum's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Does the library charge an annual fee? If yes can I ask how much? No, it's free Can you donate or put items you're not using in it? All items have been donated Do they become library property? Yes. Is it located within someone's home or a building? It's within a classroom in one of the bigger churches here. How/when can you access it? Usually once or twice a week for a period of time...it just depends on when the women that run it are free. How long can you check things out for? 1 year. -

Teaching in Public School Which Grade / Subject?
MomToJazmyne replied to mom2bee's topic in The Chat Board
2nd Grade That was my favorite grade that I have taught. I was part of a co-op teaching (in a public school) and I taught Lang. Arts and Social Studies. -
My daughter would have definitely eaten the cheesecake provided it didn't have lemon juice as she is allergic to citrus. The cherry cake she might have eaten...it just depended on her mood. She probably would have eaten it as long as you didn't tell her there was whip cream on it. She has this idea that she doesn't like whip cream until she actually eats it.

How late do you let your children sleep?
MomToJazmyne replied to Esse Quam Videri's topic in The Chat Board
My DD goes to bed at 9:00 and watches 2 episodes of MSB. She will wake up anywhere from 6:00 to 10:30. On the mornings she doesn't get up until 10:30, we just do school on the afternoons. I am sure this will all change in 3 weeks or so when the baby gets here though. -
laundry, are you completely caught up or behind?
MomToJazmyne replied to Bang!Zoom!'s topic in The Chat Board
All of our clothes are washed and put away except for the new baby's clothes and considering I have 4.5 weeks before he is due...I think I am good. -
DH's car was bought outright, but he drives a clunker (95' Mercury Cougar) My 96' Explorer was paid off...until I had a roll over in it which we replaced with a 01' Escape that will be paid off in October!!!!

I am currently 32 1/2 weeks pregnant and the only people that I have told are the ones that see me on a regular basis. This includes my mom, grandmother, and siblings. I have not told anyone else because I have had a 2nd trimester loss and am high risk for multiple reasons. The rest of my family will be being told this month. I don't think that anyone will be hurt as we are not that close....

What are you having for your Valentine meal this evening?
MomToJazmyne replied to Unicorn.'s topic in The Chat Board
Chicken Strips, mac & cheese, rolls, some kind of veggie and hot fudge sundaes for dessert -
I was in this situation; I got married 3 months after my 18th birthday...it ended in divorce 5 years later. My mom insists that she told me I shouldn't marry him, but I don't remember having a single conversation about that. Even if she did say something, I wouldn't have listened as I was/am stubborn and headstrong and we didn't have the best relationship at the point in time. Hopefully, if my DD is ever in this situation, I will be able to have a honest conversation with her and then let her make her own choices. I don't think that you can "save" someone from making their own foolish decisions as they have to make them and then face the consequences of their choices.

How far along are you? I am 29 weeks today Do you know what you are having?/Are you going to find out? I am having a boy!! Have you talked names yet? We have it down to two names...Jackson or Jamison Have you done any shopping? (Pics of nurseries would be cute!) Very little...I lost my first son when I went into labor at 23 weeks so I have been afraid to buy ANYTHING for this baby. As of right now, he has about 1 dozen outfits How was your last appointment or when is your first appointment? My last appointment was with the regular OB and was non-eventful as usual (except for the fact that I have only gained 8 lbs....but my last appointment with the high risk MFM, I found out that my cervix has gone down again. Even though I am 29 weeks, I still have not told most of my family due to my experience with my son.

If you had a surprise positive pregnancy test....
MomToJazmyne replied to lea_lpz's topic in The Chat Board
I had this happen in August.... I texted him a picture of the positive pregnancy test. I did this mainly so that he could get over whatever attitude/choice words he had before we actually talked about it... He is now just as if not more excited than I am. -
SOCIAL GROUP: Homeschooling a singleton
MomToJazmyne replied to jillian's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I am currently....although I am expecting and unexpected surprise in April/May (we thought we were done). Everything that we do is based on what is best for her because it will be another 5 years or so before I start schooling the new one. -
Chores and 5 year olds!!
MomToJazmyne replied to klhoward42's topic in General Education Discussion Board
For my 6 year old, I made a set of routine cards for everything that she needs to do during the day. I printed them on card stock, laminated, and attached magnets to the backs of them. They stay on the front of our freezer (we have a stand-up) and she moves them as she completes them. Here are the ones I made: https://www.box.com/s/mgu7p2e4bqngx0na72b7 -
Can you recommend a convertible car seat?
MomToJazmyne replied to kitten18's topic in The Chat Board
We had a Cosco Scenera as well for my DD. We were in a roll over about 3 years ago and she came out of the wreck without a scratch. We replaced it with a Graco Nautilus because she was able to be harnessed in longer (she's a wild child). I am planning on getting another Cosco Scenera for the baby due in April/May when he outgrows the infant seat. -
Lapbooking Through... Elemental Science?
MomToJazmyne replied to Classically Minded's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I have the Lapbooking through Plants and while it recommends you have certain books, I am using books from the library that are about the specific topic. -
DH and I sleep together in a king size bed. We usually end up sharing our bed with the cat and DD6 though. The only time we don't sleep together is when I am newly pregnant (usually until about 3 months) because I don't want anyone touching me then.

Difference in pregnancies with boy vs. girl?
MomToJazmyne replied to I.Dup.'s topic in The Chat Board
With this pregnancy (a boy), I have been a lot more nauseous and had TONS more food aversions than I did with my DD. With her, I craved fruits and vegetables....with this one, I am craving lots and lots of comfort food (mac and cheese, fried chicken with tons of cream gravy)
