Chris in VA
Yet if you linger in this place of avoidant consequence, How will you come to the place designed for you? Perhaps, therein, the sacrifice-- My comfort cannot lie in yours My consequence, the giving up and letting go of what I wished for what is real You think I turn my back to you When I am only turning you around So you can face the sun Edited July 10, 2011 by Chris in VA

Chris in VA
Well, it's still clunky, but it's a "5 minute poem" so I don't care. Anyway, it's been sort of a weird day and I just had something in that needed out. Thanks.

Liz CA
Very well put! Big hug! As mothers we should pray that our children are in discomfort when they are wrong but it is still very hard! Another big hug!

texasmama
:grouphug: (Not sure if this applies here, but I like to say that people who act badly should feel badly. Mostly I am speaking of my mother in law, but it applies to children, as well...or anyone really...)

Kathleen in VA
Lovely poem full of truth. It's so hard watching a loved one make poor choices and then knowing they need to figure it out for themselves, which usually means something difficult (perhaps devastating and extremely harsh) must come along before they do figure it out. You are in my prayers daily, Chris. Actually, very few minutes go by when I don't whisper a prayer for you and your family.:grouphug:

Anyway, it's been sort of a weird day and I just had something in that needed out. Thanks. It reminds me of snippets from Eliot's Four Quartets, my favorite poem.
