What was number 1 in the music charts when you were born in the US, UK and Australia.

My 3 songs are:

"Please release me" by Engelbert Humperdinck... LOL to the title and and singers name!

"Ruby Tuesday" by the Rolling Stones.... Pretty cool!

"Snoopy vs the Red Baron" by the Royal Guardsmen

One of my husbands songs was "The Candy Man" by Sammy Davis Jr, and my dd will never let him forget it

You can also use the music date generator to check on other important dates like weddings etc

have fun,

Elaine

For me:

US-I Want to Hold Your Hand by the Beatles (My sister was really mad at me for being born on the day the Beatles actually landed in America. I once got twenty bonus points on an exam for knowing that date:)

UK - Needles and Pins by The Searchers (never heard of them)

Aus - I Want to Hold Your Hand

Fun! :) Mine was...

UK- I'm Still Waiting - Diana Ross

US- How Can You Mend A Broken Heart - Bee Gee’s

Oz- Eagle Rock - Daddy Cool

I think I was around 4 when Eagle Rock was released... It was on the radio all the time in Australia. You should check it out on youtube..a good ol classic Aussie Rock Band.

US - (Reach out) I'll be there by the Four Tops

UK - Distant Drums by Jim Reeves (never heard of him.)

AUS - Step Back by Cara Lyn and Johnny Young (never heard of them)

I was thinking the exact same thing! I think I was in 4th grade. Maybe 3rd.

At least you weren't in high school! I'm old.

Mine was "I'm Your Boogeyman" by KC and the Sunshine band. Yuck.

In the UK it was "The First Cut is the Deepest" by Rod Stewart. Yuckier.

In Aus it was "Don't Cry For Me Argentina".

My poor little baby ears were traumatized by such music:)

US: Flashdance "What a Feeling" by Irene Cara

UK: "Every Breath You Take" Police

AUS: "Total Eclipse of the Heart" Bonnie Tyler

I'm sure if I heard the first two I'd recognize...but I definitely recognized the last :tongue_smilie:

You HAVE to know the theme from Flashdance. Or every song on the soundtrack like I do!

Okay, I'm settling for old. I remember when the movie Flashdance came out - I think I was in Junior High. Especially since the other "old" people here are younger than me.:tongue_smilie:

Dh was My Prayer - The Platters; Whatever Will Be Will Be - Doris Day and Poor People of Paris - Les Baxter (never heard of). Boy he is OLD.
