ktgrok
Here is the link, I'm the one in the blue t-shirt holding the baby in the pink outfit. My son is in the background in one shot, he's the kid in the green t-shirt and black hat. ktgrok
Thanks everyone....I made the mistake of sending the link to my parents, so they could see their grandchild. I'm not getting disapproving emails from them. ugh.

Harriet Vane
Good for you!!! I like the photo specifically because it clearly shows that no part of the breast can be seen. People are waaaaaay too hyper about this.
BlsdMama
I was FLOORED by all the negative comments on that post. Do people really STILL believe mamas should be breastfeeding in public? Really? I'm really a VERY modest person. I wouldn't wear a tank top in public, I wouldn't wear tight jeans, I don't even wear shorts in public - even mid thigh ones. And yet I nurse in public. Because, now get this, the baby - it needs FOOD. I promise I want to flash the public even LESS than they want to be flashed!! I promise! Wow. Good for you! charmama4
So, let me get this perfectly straight, a mother cannot b/f her baby in public but a woman may walk around in a piece of dental floss? Someone please explain this to this old broad!!

Good for you! :iagree: I do feel more personally comfortable using a blanket when I BF in public, because my babies are less distracted that way. But I 100% support the right of moms to nurse without a cover if that's their preference.
Lovedtodeath
We were at the grocery store and saw the cover of a magazine... it was motorcycles or some such. There were three women and one had a shirt so short that it covered the nipples but you could see the bottom of her breasts beneath it. One the cover of a magazine for anyone to see. How dare I show anything remotely close to that if a hungry baby is involved! I thought everyone spoke well on the video. Loved the comment in the comments section asking if the lifeguard thought to blow the whistle at women wearing thong bikinis with little kids around  Our standards are absolutely crazy! There were three women and one had a shirt so short that it covered the nipples but you could see the bottom of her breasts beneath it. One the cover of a magazine for anyone to see. How dare I show anything remotely close to that if a hungry baby is involved! No kidding! I was at the state museum in Springfield, Illinois, with my two sons. I began to nurse my baby, when a museum worker asked me to nurse in the bathroom. I marched right in to the exhibit of the original peoples of Illinois, all naked, with women shown extremely realistically, all bare-chested, found a bench, and nursed ds. ;) Obviously, I am not free from prudery. I am okay with the exhibit and publicly breastfeeding mothers, because I deem it as natural, yet I cringe and become extremely hot-tempered when I see a magazine such as loved to death described. In one case, women's breasts are natural, functional, beautiful. In the other case.... Edit to simply leave it at that. ugh. In short, let's just say that I'm for public breastfeeding, against the public objectification of women/porn at grocery store check out counters. Sheesh! It's late. Time to sleep. Getting off the soap box, now. Edited July 7, 2010 by Medieval Mom
Lucy in Australia
Good for you! I agree, everyone who spoke on the video was great (and non-hysterical, which unfortunately I have seen, when this topic arises). I may have the answer to the whole dilemma, though. Just carry around with you a couple of "those" magazines, you know, the ones that our sons are subjected to every day in supermarkets, and if anyone wants to have an issue with you, just whip out the magazine and hold it next to you. Then ask them to decide who is showing more :D

thescrappyhomeschooler
Good for you! I just don't understand what the big deal is. If people don't like it, they don't have to look. It's just a breast, for goodness sake! I'd much rather see a baby nursing than all the teenage girls with their chests popping out of their tank tops and their shorts halfway up their bottoms! Just like those posters, I don't want to see other people's breasts either which is why I wish they'd all get dressed before going out in public rather than walking out the door in little more than underwear .. yet this isn't even on the radar as publicly breastfeeding mothers are accosted for indiscretion and indecency. I've had snarky looks even when using a receiving blanket to cover while there is cleavage popping out all over the place (along with whatnot else) all around me.
