Sasharowan
RED, it's the only primary color, the rest are secondary.
babysparkler
My first thought was "orange" because it starts with a vowel :)
KidsHappen
I hated these kinds of questions in school. :glare: To me, the only thing they proved was that the questioner clearly could not think outside the box. He composed the question with the answer already in mind and therefore thought that that was obviously the right answer. It never occured to him that there could possibly be more than one thing that was different.
Heather in Neverland
I picked green...not on the "red" spectrum.
Murphy101
well I don't care what the PTB say the answer should be. because I know the answer is GREEN. so there. :tongue_smilie:

profmom
I'd say green. All the others are shades of/made with red. This was my thought as well.
gardening momma
RED, it's the only primary color, the rest are secondary. Pink is not a secondary color. Purple, orange and green are the only secondary colors.
CactusPair
I chose green as the one that doesn't belong bec. it's the only color that doesn't have red tones or undertones.
ELaurie
because it is mixed with white; the others would be primary or secondary colors. Then again, who knows what the authors were thinking :001_huh:
MamaT
I voted red, because it's a primary color. Is the answer somewhere in all these pages of posts?
Kathleen in VA
I voted red, because it's a primary color. Is the answer somewhere in all these pages of posts? Answer is post #96, pg. 10. Hey Bill, how's about editing your op to direct folks to the answer.:)
Lovedtodeath
I said pink because it is the only word without an e in it and in order to mix it you need white. After writing this I thought to check for primary colors. I didn't remember their being only one. Primary colors are different if you are talking about the light spectrum though. I think that we are both independent minded and not paying attention.
Heather in the Kootenays
How about orange as the only word there that starts with a vowel?
sleepymommy
Haven't read all the posts yet.. I voted pink since its not part of ROY G BIV.
adams101
Green. No red in that one. Right? :iagree:
Scuff
Pink because it's a shade and not a solid color? or red because it's the only primary?
Scuff
Answer is post #96, pg. 10. Hey Bill, how's about editing your op to direct folks to the answer.:) Thank you. I got to page 5 and didn't want to look much longer. And after reading the replies, I like the green answer better ;)
K&Rs Mom
I guessed right! Then scrolled through 10 pages to find out whether it was right, then through 7 more to find out what everyone else thought of the answer.... But hey, at least now I know I can pass kindergarten (somewhat later than my dc :o). So it's an evening well spent. :D
MyThreeSons
I voted "orange" because it's the only one that starts with a vowel. :D I really think it should be green, though, because it's the only color listed that doesn't have red in it. Cindyg
I voted for pink because it was the only word that didn't have an R in it.
mom31257
I voted for Green, because you need the color red to make all the other colors.
mom31257
Well I wasn't right, but according to my son's critical thinking book, the answers are a suggestion. Other answers are acceptable if the child can give a logical reason for that answer. So maybe we're all right!
KidsHappen
Well, it is obvious from the poll that purple and orange definitely belong. It a good thing they look lovely next to each other, not mixed with each other though because then you have puce which IMO never belongs. :001_smile:
Ellie
I aked my dd and she immediately chose pink. Her reasoning was that it was the only color that included something other than a primary color to make it. She does love mixing colors. That was my thought, too.
GoldenMolly
As long as I agree with dh, which we both said green and for the same reason (no red in it):001_smile:. I can see the argument for most of the answers given as being logical. I think the person who came up with that was either a moron who could not see the different possibilities, or a genius to get such a discussion going. The answer is green in our house no matter what that book says!!!
TravelingChris
By the way, green is a primary color when you are talking lights versus paints. That is, in the lighting world, like stage lights, the three primary colors are red, green, and blue. I said pink but this was a very poor question. The problem isn't with us as thinkers but rather with the author who thinks there is one answer.
Rhonda in TX
Green. red and yellow make orange red and blue make purple red and white make pink red is red green is the only one without any red included
ereks mom
I said pink because it is a tint. :iagree:
Mommyfaithe
Green. No red in that one. Right? That's what I think.
