  1. Happy Birthday!! That is a very sweet story. You have such a way of making your family memories come alive for us - I think you should write a book.
  2. This is us, too. They shouldn't have to come every single time IMO.
  3. Yes, I miss those younger years all the time. I'll have a 7th, 8th, and 10th this year. It seems like yesterday those three were toddling around bothering their brothers during school. It makes me sad. I have a grandson that will be 1yo on the 20th of this month, and a granddaughter due in October, and I secretly hope I get to homeschool one of them (or both :001_smile:) someday.
  4. My dd just got back from Guatamala with a group. She had a layover each way, and we gave her $75.00 for the airports. She came home with $10.00 leftover.
  5. I'm agreeing with Asheville, NC in mid-October. It is breathtakingly beautiful, and there are plenty of cabins in the area.
  6. My three oldest worked in their room, but there were littles around being loud at the time. My 15yo dd tried doing some work in her room last year, but took absolutely forever to get anything done. Everyone will have to stay in the living room or school area next year, so that I can keep schoolwork happening.
  7. We were engaged 3 months, and dated a total of 8 months.
  8. :grouphug::grouphug: I would be emotional, too. They are precious!!
  9. That is how I have always handled it, too. I look at schooling my kids as my job, and guard those hours.
  10. My 15yo started at 3. I would definitely drive to the good studio right from the beginning. A good foundation is important.
  11. This made me laugh. My 15yo also has pointe shoes hanging all the way down one wall of her room!
  12. I would add Kentucky and Louisianna, and call this list good. I'm not sure about Virginia . . . . I grew up, got married, and had all my kids in North Florida. It is definitely The South. I like being Southern, and wouldn't have it any other way.
  13. Sometimes I wish the whole world would stop for just a week, and let me catch my breath. Not going to happen. Between the three school-age kids at home, there are at least 2 of them (all 3 of them 4 days a week) that have somewhere to be after every school day. 2 of them have to be somewhere Saturday mornings as well.
  14. Honestly, I don't measure. I would guess it to be 1.5 cups per gallon. My dh and I grew up drinking it even sweeter. We go through 2-3 gallons every day around here in the summertime. No mint or lemon in our tea around here, and I never knew anyone who drank it like that growing up.
  15. :grouphug::grouphug: That's bad. It makes me want to have a drink for you. :001_smile:
  16. :grouphug: I am right there with you. I have to say, knowing I was on my own no matter what, has made me stronger. I think I could handle pretty much anything (with God's help). It has made me very careful to be there for my sons and their wives. They know they can count on me, AND know it's okay if they want to handle something without me. I don't make it about me.
  17. I think it changed to allow smaller countries to get a team together. It is difficult to pull together 7 gymnasts at that level from a small country.
  18. Me too! I agree with a lot of the other suggestions, and would add Arsenic and Old Lace.
