  1.:lol: Go Faithe!! I did this a few months ago, and it feels great!!
  2. Oh Amy. I just wanted to say I hurt for you and :grouphug:. I probably would err on the side of helping too much. I'm not sure if that's a weakness or a strength. Lol
  3. :iagree: We also really enjoyed Indian in the Cupboard, but you can't beat Little Britches. :001_smile:
  4. I am thankful I know how to cook and teach higher level math. I wish I knew how to deal with teenage girls!!! Boys were so much easier. Sigh.
  5. I live 12 miles out of Asheville. We love, love it here. It is absolutely beautiful, there are lots of outdoorsy things to do, there is always something interesting going on in Asheville, there is a large homeschooling community . . . I could go on and on. If you have specific questions, feel free to pm me.
  6. We start at the same time every morning, and other than 1/2 hour for lunch, do nothing other than school until it is done. I think having a set time to start, and then working until assignments for the day are done, is the only way not to get behind.
  7. Yes. This is my 18th year homeschooling, and I have three left at home.
  8. My two dds were adopted domestically, but our situation is different in that we got them at birth, and our adoptions were closed. Is it part of the adoption agreement that you keep in contact with her? Do you have to be friends with her on FB? I'm assuming that is where she is seeing the pics. If it is possible, I would distance myself as much as possible. I would feel the same way you do. :grouphug:
  9. Yes, to all those questions. :001_smile: I am beginning my 18th year this year, too.
  10. A hundred years ago when I first started my period, I had them every 2-3 weeks. My mom took me to the doctor, who told us it was completely normal and would even out later, which it did.
  11. I'm sorry you feel so bad! What a great dh you have, though, for taking care of you. I hope you wake up feeling better tomorrow.
  12. With two leftie sons, I'm agreeing with everyone else. Let him do what works for him. One of my lefties hooks, and one doesn't. The one that did preferred loose notebook paper and binders to composition books. He has a beautiful handwriting. My other leftie, not so much. I finally decided there are worse things. As long as I could read it, I didn't worry about it.
  13. I would let them get in the pool. There's no guarantee that another one would be cleaner.
  14. How about letting go? I just had my third leave for college, and it just isn't easy no matter how many times you do it. I resist the urge to text him all day long. :001_smile:
  15. I voted mid-October, but sometimes it's late October. It is so, so beautiful here in the fall.
  16. Yes! That's why I'm going to keep my grandbaby that is due in October while her mommy works part-time. My other son is moving here in January when dil gets out of the MC. They are both going to school and I'll have two grandbabies to keep me company!
