  1. That's exactly what I was going to suggest. It's free.
  2. You need to spend some time on the Gardenweb kitchen forums. It's a wealth of information. You'll end up with a more functional kitchen if you spend time on the site learning about kitchen design, materials, and contactors. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/kitchbath
  3. They won't take money and that includes a penny collection. Some movers wouldn't take baseball cards. They will take pills but not liquid medicine. If you are willing to risk the damage, you can hide things in coat pockets. They just transfer stuff on the hanger to a wardrobe box. There are lots of creative places to stash things. Not that I know anything about that, of course. Matches and birthday candles can't be packed. I always forget those.
  4. They are very strict on liquids. No soup cans, paint, toothpaste, shampoo, lotion, candles, glue, etc. I think they let us pack printer cartridges. Also no medicine or coins. If you're taking a vehicle, is it ready? ETA: Now that I think about it, they did take canned goods. I've only moved domestically. They may be stricter about food going overseas. That's really tight on the orders for an international move. When you contact the movers, they'll come to your house and take a look around to estimate the amount of boxes, crates, time, and men they need. It will take 1-3 days depending on how much stuff you have.
  5. AAR has a sequence that doesn't match up with the majority of readers. I'm using AAR on my second child. The first one really took off at some point in AAR 2. We ended up not even doing AAR 3. My current child has been struggling. She sounds a lot like your kid. In March, I wondered if she would ever be able to recognize a word. She had to sound out everything. Then something happened and she went from sounding out all words to hardly any words. Because she has been so frustrated with reading, I haven't done any new lessons for a while. Level 2 does long vowels in the beginning. They start with 2 syllable words before vowel-consonant words. So the word depend is learned before bake. Both of those lessons are in the first third of the book. Level 2 is a lot harder.
  6. Doctor Who. (Minus a few scary episodes. Amazon) Great British Baking Show. (Netflix) Legend of Korra. (Amazon) Avatar the Last Airbender DreamWorks Dragons (Netflix)
  7. We have several Flobeds. I've been sleeping on the king for 10 years. The top layer tore in half and I've been meaning to call the company to order a replacement. We've moved 5 times since we bought it which is the reason it tore. It's been a good mattress for us. The other two are queens in perfect condition. One has been used almost continuously for 13 years.
  8. I live in northern Virginia. Home prices for my town were higher 10 years ago. They have not quite recovered from the big dip although they are getting closer. There was a huge price jump here in the early 2000s.
  9. Go to REI. They'll let you set up any tent you want in the store so you can see what the tent is like and how easy it is to set up and take down. We have the REI Kingdom 6. I like it better for 4 people than 5. I don't think you could really put 6 people in there. My 12 year old son and I can easily set it up and take it down. The bag is big enough that it is easy to put away. Our previous tent from Costco was super hard to put away. It was such a struggle getting the tent rolled tight enough to fit in the bag.
  10. The same thing happened here. My son stuttered horribly. He went to a wonderful speech therapist. I'm not sure he used any of the techniques he learned. The stuttering just faded.
  11. Can you put in a shorter but deeper tub for soaking? I would leave out the Jets. Then expand the shower a bit and put in the pretty tile. Something like this: http://www.us.kohler.com/us/Greek-48-x-32-drop-in-bath/productDetail/bathing/416838.htm
  12. They did several films in our last neighborhood. Everybody had a good experience.
  13. My son really likes this http://damndelicious.net/2013/07/07/korean-beef-bowl/
  14. I almost gave birth in a hospital parking lot. Luckily, somebody was discharged from the hospital at 5 in the morning right after we pulled up. Once that patient left the wheelchair, they came and picked me up. I had the baby in the wheelchair. It was my third child. I knew I was in labor but did not expect to progress that fast. In hindsight, I shouldn't have started a load of laundry or packed lunch for the other two kids before leaving.
  15. I think you could do it. It looks better in the middle of a run instead of the end. Ikea has really cheap butcher block. They also have a faux marble. http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/40335628/
  16. You could also try a Scandinavian Dream Cake. My kids aren't big coconut fans but they love this cake. http://adorefoods.com/danish-dream-cake-drommekage/
  17. That website was overly optimistic for our location. Of the major channels, we only get Fox and NBC. We have the Mohu Leaf antenna.
  18. The endo doesn't want you to feel pain. I've had several root canals. Regular dentists have a tough time getting me numb but the endos have special powers. Root canals are my least painful dental procedures.
  19. I went to Europe when I was 14 to visit family. I didn't care for the castles and museums. My cousin took me to a Picasso exhibit I wish I could see now. I had zero interest at the time. What I enjoyed was seeing how people lived. The grocery store, the neighborhood bike bath, the indoor pool that required swim caps. I learned that some people use butter as a spread on their sandwich, backyard gardens were extremely common, the bread is amazing, milk comes in bags, the washing machine is also the drier, European tea is much tastier, etc. I learned a lot about a different culture but not a lot of history. I think there is often more value in that.
  20. I just finished watching the episode where they made picnic pies. They looked amazing. Someday I need to make one.
  21. I would consider moving the dishwasher to the other side of the sink in Stephanie's plan. The spot above the dishwasher will become the main working space because of its proximity to the fridge and sink. A trash can might be better there. Also moving the dishwasher to the other side will make it easier to work at the stove if someone is doing dishes and the dishwasher is open. It does ruin the plan of putting the dishes next to the fridge though. I would put the dishes and utensils across from the dishwasher so it is easy to unload and near the eating area.
  22. 64 during the day and 60 at night.
  23. Google says it is just over $109,000 in my town.
  24. I love our Chromebook bit it is not a PC or laptop replacement. It can do about 90% of what we need. Pros: Lightweight Starts quick Cons: Needs Internet to do pretty much everything Can't install python Word processing is through Google documents.
