  1. I had to Google the movie. Not only have I never seen it, I've never even heard of it. I thought it was going to be a tennis movie. My 13 year old was not familiar with the phrase. I know it but never use it. I don't think I've ever heard anyone use it. Playing by ear is more common.
  2. When I had two toddlers I let them play with flour all over the kitchen floor. They used it like sand so there were roads and mountains. I let my kids do messy stuff often. They paint, make big cardboard contraptions, blanket and pillow forts, etc. On Sunday, two of mine were working on a cat hotel in the sewing area involving lots of yarn and my ironing board. If they are willing to clean it up or at least help clean it up, then they can do whatever they want. They understand what sort of mess I would tolerate and what I would not. Basically, I'm okay with messes when they are used to create. A mess that is just destructive is not okay. ETA: I forgot about glitter. I don't allow glitter because it is impossible to clean.
  3. Tuesdays at the Castle Joe, the Horse Nobody Loved Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio Wolves of Willoughby Chase Cheaper by the Dozen
  4. Google for a traffic cam along the route. If you meant Interstate 64 in WV, it should have traffic cams. Smaller highways usually don't have that feature.
  5. The nearest family is over 1100 miles away. That includes parents and siblings. There are a three cousins on my husband's side that are closer. The nearest is over 450 miles away.
  6. Another vote for the orange chicken. The roasted red pepper tomato soup is also good. One time they had samples of the soup embellished with spinach and parmesan crackers. It may have had corn also.
  7. The sides of Ikea drawers aren't full height, but they are taller than the sides of a pull-out drawer. We currently have pull-out. It's a big step up from the traditional bottom cabinet but it's not as easy as a drawer. I don't like having to open a door and then pull out a drawer. I guess I'm lazy.
  8. I just want to second Ikea cabinets. I love them. You definitely want drawers as your bottom cabinets. They are much better for storage. I also like soft close drawers. Ikea has both for a good price.
  9. School of Rock is good. You might be able to get rush tickets. I would try for Come From Away or Dear Evan Hansen.
  10. The fact that there are a gazillion different products and no foundational theme is what makes it so great. It can be used by girls and boys in a million different ways. Pirates with cannons can storm the princess castle. A grocery store can become a museum that is robbed. My girls make a town with a school, post office, park with fountain, playground, and forest. It's the variety of sets that allows one to do so much.
  11. The Playmobil website has good prices. There is a coupon code through the 15th for 25% off orders over $100. It's USB7BC. We've had Playmbil under the Christmas tree for the past 10 years. We get more use out of the smaller pieces than the bigger pieces.
  12. In the kitchen, I would switch the location of the pantry and fridge. Having the fridge in its current spot could interfere with the dishwasher. I'm also concerned with the lack of a coat closet.
  13. I had it on 64 or 65 during the day and down to 61 at night but 2 kids are complaining it's too hot at night. I'll probably try 63 during the day and down to 59 at night and see how that goes. Those temps can feel chilly during the day if you're stationary. Sometimes the kids complain it is too cold during the day but other times they are in short sleeves.
  14. They can share. You can't listen to two audio sources at the same time. Maybe you guys can, but I think the average person can't listen to a song and audio book at the same time.
  15. I received an email this morning about the sale. It ends December 14th. It's not a true 50% off sale. Members always get 30% off list price. Now members get 50% off list price. That comes out to about 30% off usual prices. Check your email settings. They had a huge kids book sale in November.
  16. That's why you need to ditch the house. Two years ago we were in the middle of a move and my husband was in military school for a few months. I took the opportunity to travel with the kids. At the time, they were 10, 8, and 6. We tent camped in nine states from Georgia to Maine. It was the best. I was not an experienced tent camper in the beginning but we made mistakes and we learned. I would definitely do it again. I wanted the kids to experience new things and stretch the boundaries of their comfort zone.
  17. If it were me, I would take the opportunity to travel. I would put the stuff in storage and get an RV for a year.
  18. I replied no but as soon as I saw Lowe's mentioned in the comments, I knew what it was. When I was a teenager, my dad sent me to get some wood screws from a big jumble of unmarked screws. This was a jumble of random screws that one might collect over a lifetime. I asked him what a wood screw looked like and he was mad and surprised that I couldn't pick out what he wanted. Even today, I still can't tell a metal screw from a wood screw.
  19. My packages have all been arriving earlier than expected. A few months ago they were arriving late. I guess they fixed the problem in my area.
  20. I was told by a sexual assault counselor that if I ever felt myself getting too protective and started seeing potential threats everywhere that indicated I needed counseling.
  21. I have a daughter that loves the Hanna Andersson underwear. She monitors her clean underwear stash to make sure she doesn't run out. She really prefers them. MY son loved the Hanna Andersson underwear so much that once he outgrew them, he decided he would rather wear no underwear than another brand. I bought a lot of brands for him to try. MY other daughter wears Gymboree. She has never tried Hanna Andersson.
  22. My son's stutter was worst around 4th grade. He did speech therapy for a while that didn't seem terribly effective. The speech therapist was great. It was my son that didn't put much effort into incorporating the techniques. At its peak, his stutter was way worse than your son's stutter. Now in 7th grade, I can't remember the last time he stuttered. His stutter started around 1st grade. In 3rd grade, it worsened. In 4th grade, his stuttering was considered severe. By 5th grade, it started decreasing. People around him noticed a reduction. In 6th grade, he was stuttering less than he did as a 1st grader. He would go weeks without stuttering. At this point, he hasn't stuttered in months.
  23. I've seen lower prices on non-sale flights. Using the calendar feature on Southwest's site helps to find the best price. If it doesn't need to be Southwest, try Google flights. It lets you search nearby airports. It looks at prices for lots of airlines but not Southwest.
  24. We finished Joe, The Horse Nobody Loved recently. It was really good. It was funny and sad. The narration was excellent. I couldn't believe it wasn't read by the author. I felt like I was visiting my grandma and she was telling me about her childhood. It might cost less than a credit.
