  1. The change in format is noticeable with Saxon, but it can be tweaked. I would work hard to restore her confidence as math grows more and more challenging. (I'm not one for switching, but if you know Saxon would be a good fit for her, I say go for it.) Possible suggestions for Saxon or any program The Warm UP is similar to the meeting book, but shorter. Work with her or use the DIVE or SaxonTeacher cd rom. Take longer to complete the lesson, two days or less of the practice sets problems. (I'm ducking the tomatoes, but it does work for some students.) Write in the book to avoid copy-work mistakes and frustrations.
  2. Congratulations! It's been years since I was done early.:001_huh: I wonder if I could try for just after Thanksgiving this year.
  3. I love Barnes & Nobel gift cards as gifts. My dd received a movie theater pass for her b day and LOVED it! I may steel this one for my sister and her family. Thank you.
  4. I stock up on staples in the fall and early winter, because I hate pushing a cart across slippery, bumpy, ice/snow packed, wind-whipping parking lots in weather that is far below freezing. We also have to have a decent supply of things food & essentials in case of winter storms or floods here.
  5. My ds will, but my dd has always been a morning girl.
  6. :iagree: And I'm working very hard not to give into temptation and take a peek.
  7. They are beautiful. We had a pair last year in the black-oak tree behind us. They hooted all night long...for weeks:glare:. Poor things were booted out of the roost due to a house being built back there. I felt so sorry for my ds, because it sounded like they were in his room, and the poor kid got no sleep.
  8. Our state has a 180 day attendance requirement. However, they do count excused absences, any early release or part days, etc. Many years they have to attend classes on make-up Saturdays or lengthen the year, to make up for snow-days. Last year 9 days were added to the end of the year, and the teachers and students hated it. Many seniors here try to at least be in the class that sends in attendance. They can be late and leave early, but they are counted present.
  9. :grouphug: I take it your soon-to-be-ex-bil is a donkey-butt.
  10. :grouphug: That stinks... I'd only schedule appointments after or before work and only discuss price reductions in person;).
  11. Yes, it does teach key word outlining, and I was hesitant. I think OhE recommend it along with a few other boardies. The logical and easy to follow instructions just clicked for ds, and transitioning to traditional outlines was super easy. ymmv
  12. I'm so happy you did get the correct prescriptions, but so sorry he was such a donkey-butt. If you like your regular doctor, I'd go back. He doesn't deserve your consideration, as he was totally unprofessional. :grouphug:Feel better:grouphug:
  13. Poor kid, he sounds so scared. I hope his experience is gentle and over before he knows it. I'd go with the bribe and reassure him as much as possible. Do let them know he is frightened.
  14. I haven't been back in years, but there is so much to do. Today, I'd settle for sitting out in the sun. Enjoy yourselves, I hope your vacation is wonderful and refreshing.
  15. :iagree: They offer an educators discount and the membership savings with free shipping, plus they take paypal.
