  1. Why is this form of comedy that mocks others expected, accepted, and even encouraged? Removing the particular incident, I don't understand why society is still tolerating that as a comedy form...it seems very junior high to me, and if you can't make people laugh with making fun of someone else, maybe you're just not that funny.
  2. I'm so excited for them...that's what March Madness is all about!
  3. I don't know what boat tour you looked at, but I really enjoy the Wendella tour...I took my children on it a few years ago, and we all learned a lot! I don't think it's too spendy? You should check out the Chicago Cultural Center if you get a chance...I'm assuming it's open to visitors...the Tiffany domes are gorgeous!
  4. Our family celebrates both of those! Actually, we started a "Tour di Pizza" on MAR10 Day, and we're wrapping it up today, with one last kind of pizza (pie)! 🙂 And then there's the Revenge of the Fifth...
  5. I'll keep masking until a vaccine is available for the younger crowd, not because I have children who are that age, but because I have friends who do and I want to stand in solidarity with them. Beyond that, I'm not sure. I'm already not masking outdoors unless I'm in a crowded place. I will continue to mask indoors where it's required because I'm not a jerk. But I'm also not going to mask forever. It's not a big deal to do it, but it does make things more unpleasant. Grocery shopping, for example, has gotten so stressful with rising prices and shortages, and masking is just one more layer to make the trip as miserable as possible, so I would love to not do that. We're taking a big, postponed family vacation this summer, and I imagine that will probably be the point where I really drop the mask, because we'll be eating in restaurants for the first time in over two years, and once I've crossed that line, I think not masking other places will follow.
  6. Not a full unit study, just some new recipes (the scallion pancakes I made for dinner the night of the Opening Ceremonies were a huge hit!), and a few crafts, and hopefully a little bit about Chinese history/culture. It's so much easier to plan something more in-depth during the summer Olympics when I have more free time!
  7. I'll watch anything and everything, winter or summer Olympics...I love it all!
  8. We stayed at Cabana Bay at Universal a few years ago (and are planning on staying there again this summer). It's seriously one of my favorite places ever...it's mid-century marvelous, and very fun...there's a lazy river, several bars, a bowling alley...I don't remember what all else. I also don't know how COVID has changed anything there, but I absolutely loved the experience we had!
  9. The heroine wears glasses!!! We love it. Not just for the glasses, but that is a part of it. 🙂
  10. I grew up in the suburbs, but family isn't the motivator...I just really, really love the city.
  11. If I also have a time machine, I would have taken the family to see the symphony play the score of the Muppet Christmas Carol live while they show the movie last month.
  12. Yes...all seven of us crammed in our minivan...I can't wait!!! 🙂
  13. We're hoping for a trip to Washington D.C./Myrtle Beach/Orlando early in the summer, and I really hope it happens, because we were supposed to go last year, and I can't handle the thought of putting it off again.
  14. I have a vintage-style dressing gown that I would 100% wear out of the house if I had somewhere fancy enough to go.
  15. They won't stop until they move out.
  16. This is the recipe my family loves...my younger son, who hates store-bought eggnogs of all kinds, even loves it!
  17. I've been making this recipe for years, and my oldest daughter, in particular, loves it. I'm not a huge fan of pecan pie myself, so I can't personally attest to how good it is, though.
  18. Nine pies, two different kinds of stuffing, and the cranberry sauce...I hope I have energy left for tomorrow!
  19. That's what I do, too. I made one that way this morning, and it didn't bubble up at all.
  20. I'm making nine pies (family tradition...everyone who will be at our Thanksgiving table gets to request a pie), the cranberries, and prepping the stuffing. I hope there are enough hours in the day to get it all done!
  21. Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky, but I would stay home. No way would I let my children be used like that.
  22. Chicken paprikash and homemade spaetzle...comfort food at its finest!
