  1. It's a book all about how they designed the clothes for the show...it's fascinating, and so pretty to look at!
  2. It means so much to me to know that you follow me...thank you!
  3. I don't. That may be a "someday" project once I'm done homeschooling, because I'd love to have that skill!
  4. Thanks for all the kind words! I was super nervous (and I hate the sound of my own voice!), but I think it went pretty well, and it was a really fun experience!
  5. Two weeks ago, one of our morning news anchors came to our house to do a story about my fashion. It aired today, and I figured I'd share it here to give you a glimpse at the person behind the (rather infrequent) posts!
  6. They're not quite as brightly colorful, but St. Louis has a version of the "Painted Ladies" in Lafayette Square.
  7. In my experience, strands of lights or parts of strands of lights get brighter right before they burn out...could that be what's going on?
  8. A Streetcar Named Desire and Grease are both awful movies with horrible storylines.
  9. I think maintaining golf courses is an irresponsible use of water, among other things.
  10. I hear you and I get it. That is a difficult combination of grades all at once. I hope you can find something to look forward to that helps carry you through.
  11. We're in the same boat here...my son is in the marching band, and we're just kind of waiting to see whether or not they postpone Friday's game. The soccer game last night was cancelled, so we'll see, but I think it's absurd to play a game where the players have to wear so much gear when the heat is so extreme!
  12. I think absolutely anything is "in." There's so much variety out there! Right now, the various nail polish companies seem to be really into promoting 90s shades and calling them "retro," but I'm pretty sure that's just to make me feel old.
  13. Anything that involves driving a vehicle larger than a minivan or in a big city.
  14. At least 30,000, but I don't think at this point any quoted price would surprise me.
  15. We have sets on display literally all over the house. Many of them are mine. 🙂 I collect the modular buildings and have a whole Main Street in our den, and I bought bookshelves specifically with displaying them in mind. Since I have so many sets of my own on display, it seems disingenuous to tell other people that they can't, so my children also have stuff in the main parts of our home as well as their rooms. And then there's the basement, which is Lego central!
  16. Cahokia Mounds is awesome! When you're in the St. Louis area, you should try toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake. Some people really like St. Louis style pizza from Imo's but it's not my favorite. Ted Drewes frozen custard is delicious. Also BBQ...my favorite is Beast Craft BBQ in Belleville, IL, which is not too far from Cahokia Mounds.
  17. Fashion designer/model Disney cast member Whatever you call what Rick Steves does, traveling around Europe and writing books and making TV shows
  18. This is a fabulous itinerary! I was in Chicago just last month, and you're making me miss it already!!!
  19. This is my "famous" punch recipe. My children have been known to try to come up with a reason we should have a party just so I'll make it. It gets really slushy, which I think is part of the appeal.
  20. Are you related to me? 🙂 Every year on the first day of summer, I say the best part about the day is that we're on our back to winter! And then I suffer through two more months of what is to me excessive heat.
