  1. Which one? 🙂 Our big Christmas tree goes in our den, which is not the room we spend the most time in, but is the entrance to our home, and has windows facing the street, which is where we place the tree in the room. It *is* the room with the staircase, though, so anytime anyone goes up or down the stairs, they pass by it. We have a smaller tree in our living room, where we spend most of our family time, and that's the tree with all of our handmade ornaments. Our Jesse Tree is the smallest one (about four feet, I think), and that goes in our schoolroom.
  2. So far, she only has a sore arm. My own experience, however, is that I learned that you shouldn't post about vaccinating your child on social media unless you really like being called an evil child abuser over and over.
  3. I'm only doing five...I don't think I can fit any more than that in the space I have.
  4. I did the same thing! But I figure at least that gives me more time to figure out where the stuff is going to go.
  5. It wasn't yet when it showed up. 🙂
  6. I bought a pair of overalls from Old Navy this year, and now I don't want to wear anything else. I had forgotten how much I love them!
  7. I still check on my youngest (9), but that's partly because she shares a room with her big sisters, and I usually pray with them and tuck them in after she's already asleep. I will admit that with my oldest four, I checked on them after they went to bed for a long time...I think I stopped only because they oldest ones now go to bed pretty much at the same time as I do!
  8. Wade is the cutest!!! He's like a little baby penguin.
  9. My daughters and I are SO EXCITED. My oldest daughter has been waiting and hoping that they would add Brewster. I have played literally every day since the game came out, and I'm looking forward to the addition of new items and tasks. And I can't wait to meet the new villagers! Do you have a favorite island resident? Mine is Roald...I put his house right next to mine because he's my best buddy. 🙂
  10. We use the historic one-year lectionary, and I definitely think it helps. Very, very occasionally, our pastor will preach on something else (I can think of one time in the last 18 months or so), but in general, the lectionary helps provide structure and prevents the pastor from fixating on one topic.
  11. I totally agree! It doesn't matter what sport I'm watching, I'm seeing high-caliber athletes who can do amazing things!
  12. I think our homeowners insurance requires it, so I just assumed everyone's did...I have one under the kitchen sink.
  13. Lego instruction books we want to keep.
  14. We love walking the trail around Creve Coeur Lake! Laumeier Sculpture Park is good for nature and art. And depending on when you're planning on visiting, there's a really cool large-scale origami exhibition at the Missouri Botanical Garden.
  15. This is the kind of cake we had for my birthday last month...it's excellent. My children were skeptical, but it was a copycat recipe from one of our favorite restaurant chains, so they kept an open mind, and we all agreed...it tasted nothing like mayo. But mayonnaise is basically oil and eggs, and both go in cakes anyway, so it's really not a stretch, and the cake was moist and delicious.
  16. We occasionally see one in our broader area, and my immediate thought is always "dumbass racist hick," which I guess covers at least two of the poll options.
  17. I can't speak for the other denominations, but I agree...Lutherans are definitely not Calvinists.
  18. Photography? Like a really nice camera and some equipment? That's the kind of thing where at least you can start out teaching yourself, so it would be self-directed on his part, and he could photograph things he's interested in?
  19. Mine will continue masking until she can be vaccinated, and we will continue masking in solidarity with her. The only place we go with any regularity as a family is church, and they're going to keep requiring masks for the time being, too, so it's not a big deal.
  20. I already know what I'm getting, and it's something I've wanted for years...a St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap, with the logo done in Swarovski crystals.
  21. My 14 and 15 year olds are so excited about this, especially since my two oldest (and myself) received our second dose today. That will just leave my nine-year-old, but I'm trying not to have any expectation about when there might be a vaccine approved for her.
