  1. I am following this because I have a stubborn patch, lower back scalp, that just won't budge. Coal tar shampoo seemed to make it worse, OTC stuff has no effect, and the prescription shampoo I tried had no effect after using the whole bottle. It started about the time we moved here, so I am wondering if it's the hard water.
  2. I have a longtime friend that has no FB filter. I've been treated to pics of the blister on the inside of her son's lip, his teeth at the dentist...you get the idea. I don't mind food pics that look good. This particular friend tends to post food pics when she has gone out to dinner and the food is half eaten. No dish looks good then.
  3. Avocadoes. Seriously the ones here are always gorgeous, ripen perfectly in a couple of days and much cheaper than the grocery store.
  4. I never got over "Be a Pepper....Drink Dr. Pepper..." :biggrinjester:
  5. Happy birthday! Re: the trainer, it would be money well-spent. Many will often do an assessment free to give you an idea of what you need and tosee how you like them.
  6. It's awesome with lime and chili powder. I like the idea of using it in a stir fry instead of water chestnuts. I am so gonna do that next time ;)
  7. Be careful with getting foot soaks too hot, it can cause cramping. I learned this in my bartending days. When I became a pro ballroom dancer, I spent about 16 hours a day in 3 inch heels. Mostly open shoes so gel inserts were useless. If she has good shoes and inserts, her feet will adjust, it just takes time. What saved me was coke bottles. I kept 2 of the glass ones that have the ridges. At the end of the day, I'd lay tham on thier sides, rest my bare arches on them and roll back and forth. Also, you mentioned raising her feet. Lying on the floor and raising them all the way up to vertical feels great. :)
  8. Our kids see a pediatrician that we absolutely love. However, he is in the same practice/office with GPs and internal medicine docs. Our oldest (the one with epilepsy) just turned 18 and I hate to think of moving him on. The good thing is, though, that once he does the GP is about 5 feet from the ped's office :)
  9. We are in campus family housing, which doesn't allow pets other than service dogs. However, therapy animals/emotional companions are allowed. Most here are very good about keeping them on a leash. There is one family, however, that has a small dog that is not the least bit friendly. It will bark and growl and I caught it sneaking up behind me once, which is never a good sign. They are always letting the young kids out with this thing and it's never leashed.
  10. I would definitely suggest renting at first until they student decides they like the instrument and don't want to change, which is common that first year. When I started out, I ended up switching adn since we were renting, we just exchanged it for another instrument. I branched out in high school and college, picking up the things no one was playing, like English horn, xylophone and piccolo in high school, and in college the bassoon. In those cases I used the school's instruments.
  11. I love the trials and the Olympics! I have to agree with Umsami...Greg Louganis looks wonderful!
  12. MY first paid job was as a checker at a grocery store. This was back in the days long before scanners when we had to manually key in all the prices, adjust for non-food stuff, etc.
  13. My favorite dessert: Cut a slit in the inside curved edge of a banana, leaving the peel on. Stuff in chocolate chips, wrap it in foil and put on the grill over the fire for a bit till the banana softens up. It's amazing.
  14. I had an expensive memory foam pillow that was perfect and lasted 15 years. It finally got too flat and now I have one I got from Tempurpedic that was around $100. It's awesome. I have neck issues and if the pillow is too flat or too high or whatever, I get some serious neck pain. After my old one wore out, I tried several others but all of them caused issues. This Tempurpedic one is great.
  15. We walk a lot too but when it's 100+ degrees we have been known to go to the air conditioned mall and do our laps there :)
  16. I need a drink but mt teenager can swallow multiples dry and he takes a big bcomplex and 1.5 Keppra tablets at a time and those are all horse pills. The girls, on the other hand, have a hard time getting down a tiny benadryl with water. My grandmother was like my son - she could dry swallow 4 aspirin without a second thought.
  17. I just finished a 2nd Bachelor's degree in history and am starting grad school in the fall. My first degrees were in 1985 in Econ and psychology. You can do it! I will be 53 next week :)
  18. I have some of the prescription goggles from swimoutlet and love them. While I would not use them to sit down and read a novel, they are fine for swimming and such and I can actually see! As a sidenote, my vision/astigmatism is really bad, so I was surprised they worked so well.
  19. This is absolutely worth trying. I worked with an acupuncturist (as their assistant) for a few years here in Montana. She did a lot of work with horses as well as people. One of her regulars was a Persian cat that was 15 years old and had terrible arthritis. Every 2 weeks his owner would bring him in. He was always really stiff at that time, and after treatment would be up walking around as normal and be good to go for the next couple of weeks. Since it didn't take long to do, the treatments were pretty cheap as well.
  20. I get bad RLS attacks and for me it's always an iron issue. I keep carbonyl iron on hand (much easier on the digestive system than ferrous sulfate) and when the RLS starts, I can take a dose of that and it will stop it. If your tests show anemia that could be the cause.
  21. It also makes for softer floors underneath your feet if your carpet padding is only so-so (like ours).
  22. We do here - family/graduate housing on campus so the carpet is not the greatest.
  23. YEs. the direct route is drive.google.com and log in. It will then show you all your files/folders. Click New...it's in a red button on the left, then choose file upload (or folder if you want to move a whole folder). This is also the menu to make new documents, spreadsheets etc.
