Maybe just 'lazy' parenting? It's easier to parent easier kids. It sounds like your older one would need an approach that takes more thought and patience to figure out what works best. I could be way off so I'm just throwing that idea out there for you.

Question for Dr hive--dd with autoimmune issues
Jen500 replied to Jann in TX's topic in The Chat Board
I would confirm with the ped. rheum. that the wait will actually be that long. Has the orthopedist faxed them all of the lab work and reports? Did the orthopedist recommend a regular rheumatologist as a back-up? Has your daughter tried Aleve? I'm sorry your daughter is going through this. -
A lot of houses in my area have been foreclosed, many bought by investors and turned into rentals. One of the former homeowners came back to clean up the house after they moved out. He told me that he had some deal with the bank to get a few thousand $ if he left the house clean and undamaged. Not sure if you have any of those by you. Just be careful what you end up spending. Make sure it's really in your budget. Yes, renting is expensive, but when the house needs a new roof, and the heating system goes out, and all of the smaller repairs can really add up. Plumbers are expensive. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing! Very sweet.

He called and he was surprised that a real person answered the phone right away. It looks like it'll get cleared up.

Ugh, my son (at school right now) sent me a screenshot of his score, and it says he doesn't meet eligibility requirements because he's 'not a high school student'. Though it has his graduation date, 2018, correct. Could he have filled out something wrong?

Good luck!

There are thousands of dressy shoes for women to choose from that have no velcro. Maybe you are looking at the wrong brands/wrong styles. Nice, dressy shoes really aren't going to have velcro. Maybe your searches have focused on comfort. Some brands to look at off the top of my head- AGL Cole Haan Sam Edelman Stuart Weitman Corso Como

I had an HP Officejet for years and liked it. I bought an HP laser jet a year ago because I wanted wireless printing. It was more expensive but I still haven't had to replace the ink. I spent a lot of money over the years on cartridges for the Officejet.

Yet another difference in being a teenager now vs. when I was young
Jen500 replied to Tap's topic in The Chat Board
My teen boys have bought gifts for girls and they've always chosen things like specific books or something related to what the girl likes. Nothing close to underwear. I've suggested more 'girly' things to them (jewelry, lip gloss, etc) and the response is always NOOOOOOOO -
Sorry for the confusion- one ds had 750/740, the other 770/740. They go to ps so I'll have to wait until they log into their accounts again to get more detailed info. I've been thinking about the twin issue that you mentioned earlier and I realized that although they have very similar interests for college, they seem to be choosing different schools (except for one school) and I think I'll make sure they're not 'dividing' up school between them. i don't know that that's a good idea.

My boys (11th grade) got their SAT scores and they are good, but not good enough for their 'dream/reach' colleges. I have 2 questions- What can they specifically do to improve their SAT scores when what they have is in the 740-770 range? Previously they went through the Collegeboard study guide and did some practice tests. And then--they are looking for colleges that are Reach, Match, Safety, but how do you decide if a school is ok for a Reach school vs forget-about-it-don't-bother. If the acceptance rate is very very low and SAT scores aren the lower part of the 50th % would that be an out of reach school ? Because it seems like that to me. (I know there's more to it than SAT scores)

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Check out Woolovers. They have some thicker crew neck cardigans and the prices are good for the quality.

Update: Review in OP: Eyeglasses from Zenni Optical = FAST and CHEAP
Jen500 replied to Lanny's topic in The Chat Board
I bought several pairs of bifocals a few yrs ago. I had to return one pair because the ear piece was coming apart when they arrived. The pairs I kept are just ok-great for the price, but it's hard to get a good fit online even with all the measurements, especially for bifocals.- 31 replies

:grouphug: I have known several families with kids, where one of the parents died because of drugs/alcohol. Very heartbreaking.
