  1. It worries me when I see some of our prescription drugs are made in China.
  2. Yeah-I have never noticed this in person either. If I am actually noticing someone with that much attention I'm admiring their nice hair or interesting bag or something.
  3. I don't notice people's crotches but I do think camel toe is a real fashion faux pas. (That link is just fine! :) )
  4. Athletic clothing is very popular with the guys too! Underarmour, Nike, etc. I don't have problems w/that, or yoga pants or jogging shorts or whatever. I don't understand why people would hike up the side of a mountain in flip flops though. lol.
  5. I won't shop at Walmart anymore, but when I've shopped there in the past, overall the prices were higher than the SuperTarget. I suspect it may vary by area? I've never shopped at Costco so I can't compare.
  6. Yes to the yummy food and coffee maker. A nice tablecloth (assuming you have a table) Comfortable camp chairs A decent lantern or lighting
  7. No, thankfully I didn't lose any photos. Although I can look at my old albums in 'iPhoto events', it doesn't automatically load new photos into albums. I can't easily find specific photos-I have to scroll through All photos (and I have a lot). I liked iPhotos with the albums being arranged by date, and i could scroll over each album and see thumbnails of all the pics in the album. It seems like I can manually make 'smart albums' but I find the old way simpler and easier for me.
  8. I'm going to wait. I'm still mad that El Capitan messed up my photos. I liked iPhoto much better.
  9. I don't understand--what makes the author of the blogpost an 'expert' in admissions??? I see he runs an SAT prep business and was accepted at a lot of top colleges, but I didn't really look more at his website to see what makes him qualified to give his expertise as far as specific advice about what to do/not do to get into an Ivy League school.
  10. I don't know what she meant, but in my area some people have filed false reports with the police about clowns.
  11. Does anyone have any advice for me about how to help my ds11 be less afraid of clowns? We've had this creepy clown hysteria in our area and logic doesn't seem to help his fear. It hasn't helped that when he's been at school the texts and rumors start flying around. AFAIK the threats and sightings in our area have been hoaxes or unconfirmed. He says he thinks that people who dress as a clown are probably 'psycho' and that's why they'e dressed as a clown, looking for kids to hurt.
  12. As a parent of a 6th grader, my input would be to re-think how the science fair is done. Don't give the kids only 4 days to come up with their entire experiment and then 3 months to complete it. Let them spend more class time exploring ideas, and learning about how to design an experiment. And I'm tired of seeing the 'winners' being kids whose parent's bought lots of cool stuff even though the 'experiment' design is flawed.
  13. If you don't need to bargain shop I would go to Nordstrom's. They are great about spending time with you and finding specific outfits.
  14. Thanks for sharing-I love their positive, fun attitude! (And yours  )
  15. Yeah, I agree-who really knows what goes on in other people's households?
  16. This article is saying that Brad was wasted and abusive towards the kids on a flight, triggering Jolie's filing for divorce- http://www.tmz.com/2016/09/22/brad-pitt-child-abuse-investigation/
  17. I would find out the district person in charge of this (not someone at the school), and either call and leave a detailed message for that person, or send them a detailed email message with a screenshot showing you as an employee. Good luck.
  18. I have tried on a pair that my friend ordered. No arch support whatsoever so not a good fit for me. They are supposed to have great customer service, and I don't think they ever give out discounts anymore.
  19. I don't really remember how I first heard about the talent searches. We were homeschooling, but I know the ps would invite some of the 7th graders to take the SAT. My kids qualified for the camps, but I felt they were expensive (and I have twins so I would have had to send both of them to be fair) and we were doing so much with homeschooling anyways that I didn't feel we needed anything extra. My impression was that it was/has become just another venue for parents with money to spend on their kids. The slick mailers, etc. The only people I know IRL who send their kids to the camps are very upper class (economically). I know I could totally have the wrong idea but that's just the impression I've gotten over the years.
  20. I wonder about that too. We bought a new top loader w/agitator in the last 6 months. Most of the time it cleans ok, but I realized that sometimes it doesn't use enough water on the automatic sensor setting. A gentle load came out 1/2 wet and 1/2 dry. I think the was time is pretty fast.
