Have you seen the commercial where the son does Christmas for his mom?

It was sweet, but I'm going to be honest - it's not up to Publix holiday commercial status for me.

If y'all don't have Publix in your area you NEED to find and watch their holiday commercials. Man...tear jerkers for sure (in happy way). Just perfect.

Found a playlist https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=2ahUKEwjM-4XMw-jlAhVKI6wKHezODHIQFjABegQIABAG&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fplaylist%3Flist%3DPL2gmdR82lc0rpvc9fwg9X2GlubwhCjq5F&usg=AOvVaw0Z9XW9JhLIWJAvxcqFhwbK

Yes!

At the beginning of the commercial, I was all like "he better do something nice for his mom." And by the end, I was crying. And now, whenever it comes on, my children think they need to warn me about it...except, I know my oldest two daughters were crying, too. I guess they get it from me!

Well, I watched a few of those but IMO the Hobby Lobby one is better than the ones I saw. I think part of the effectiveness of the commercial above is NO WORDS. It is all conveyed by implication, which makes you have to access your emotional understanding.

I tear up every time I watch it, even though I know what’s going to happen now.

That makes sense.

I think this is a favorite commercial of mine -

Oh my word. Tears, tears, tears, and maybe just a teeny weeny little bit of Christmas spirit starting to stir, even though I am staunchly in the "no Christmas til after Thanksgiving" camp!

Am I the only one who wouldn't want my kid to sell their video game stuff in order to buy decorations?

(I'm very sentimental and cry at lots of ads but this one doesn't strike me.)

Ah, to me that’s what totally makes it! Because the clue earlier in the ad shows he fell asleep playing a video game, so it’s not like, “meh, that was the old gaming system I don’t use anymore...” No, this was his favorite thing, which he gave up to make a happy Christmas for his hard-working mother! And he put the red sweater on! 😭😭😭 OMG, if my ds gave up a video controller and did laundry and dishes and put a sweater on, all in one day, I would collapse!

😄

Being pregnant (twice) in Florida....those commercials contributed to a lot of my ugly crying moments.
