ScoutTN
We have loads of turnips. I need new idea. I often do roasted or mashed (with and without other root veggies). Any other ideas?
bibiche
Sauteed with other root vegetables (I like carrots and celeriac) is delicious. Also as an ingredient in vegetable soups.

Jane in NC
One of my favorite seasonal cookbooks is Lane Morgan's Winter Harvest. She has a wonderful turnip recipe that I made just the other day. I prefer small turnips which I slice thinly. Heat some olive oil in a pan, add garlic and a couple of anchovies. After the anchovies melt, add your turnip slices. My recent variation of this included adding some slices of precooked chicken sausage about the time the turnips were done. After a couple minutes I added sliced turnip greens. My husband loved this! http://www.newsociety.com/Books/W/Winter-Harvest-Cookbook Edited November 16, 2016 by Jane in NC

Guest
As for turnip recipes, I like them as fries but I've also made a turnip soufflé that was surprisingly delicious: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/turnip-souffle
Lady Florida.
I like to put mine in the compost. Sorry. :) That's where they should go. ;) Dh grew some in his garden this year. I told him he's welcome to cook them however he wants them. I'm staying away. My mother used to try to get us to eat them by mixing them in with mashed potatoes thinking my brother and I would never know they were there. We knew. We always knew.
