TrixieB
IMO it's WAY too early for stores to be playing Christmas music. Michaels and JCPenney, I'm talking about YOU! If the grocery store will just hold out till the day after Thanksgiving... please, oh please...
Tohru
I've learned to embrace it. It's nice. Accept the love and peace feelings. :001_wub:
happi duck
The other day I was humming along and realized...wait...what? I love Christmas music but it does make me feel behind: "oh no! It's almost Christmas!" but it isn't!
chocolatechip
Oh, oh, oh. I needed a white cardigan for October 12th. My procrastinator self waited until October 11th to begin looking. My search took me to Kohl's. They had a display of Christmas trees and ornaments with Christmas music playing in that particular area. It was in the back of the store, but it was there all the same. I kid you not. I was like, SERIOUSLY??? It's not even halfway through October yet!!
twoxcell
My dh started Christmas music on November 1st. He is a Christmas nut though. Lol
kroe1
Last night I was at the Osbourne Festival of Lights at DisneyWorld. Our neighborhood got decorated last week. And my Christmas tree is already up.....actually, it stays up all year. So, we have caught the Christmas spirit!
Beth S
Yes, Toys R Us (last night) is part of this mind-control game. For once, though, last night, I was just enjoying it all.
QueenCat
Seems like it usually starts the day after Halloween......
Cinder
I did hear Christmas music in Oct. Can't remember where though. Dd was a bit surprised because it wasn't even Halloween yet. But I reminded her that until this year she used to listen to Christmas music year-round. She plays a cd at bedtime and always had a Christmas selection in the player, usually Mannheim Steamroller. This year she's graduated to Toby Mac.
Jan in SC
I have a son in a Christmas show, so I've been listening to Christmas music for two months. The ballet studio is also rehearsing the Nutcracker, so I've heard that music for a while, too. I go back and forth between excited and annoyed. mrsrevmeg
A station here has been playing Christmas c=since mid-October. I like it. My middle son says he wishes we would play any Christmas tunes until after his birthday (mid-November)
Dory
If there is Christmas music before Remembrance Day is done here. I stop going to the store. More and more of the places up here are being respectful of our veterans in that way and waiting until after Remembrance Day.
sunflowerlady
Yep, I heard a Christmas song in Kmart a few days ago. Also Kmart started putting out Christmas trees and decorations for sale several weeks ago.
Lady Marmalade
I saw bell-ringers today, and thought that seemed early. But I don't think I've heard the Christmas music while out and about yet.
I talk to the trees
Dd and I just got back from the grocery store where, of course, they have the Christmas tunes going. We looked at each other, then both of us started singing: "Heard this same song twenty times, And it's only Halloween! It's not even cold outside!" For those of you who don't recognize these lyrics, check out this video.
Cricket
I've seen Christmas lights outside already. It used to bother me but I've decided this year that I will just enjoy it!! :-)
Starr
Christmas lights cheer up our long, dark winter. I'm happy for folk to put them up early and take them down late.
KatieJ
I turned on the radio today and boom, there it was. Your home for the holiday christmas music. Then while I was out running some errands, I noticed a house with a lighted wreath on the outside of their house . As I drove by, there was a christmas tree in the front window all lit up. Since I started christmas shopping yesterday, I guess I am now ready for it. It does help put you in the mood when you are getting shopping and wrapping done. mrsrevmeg
Dd and I just got back from the grocery store where, of course, they have the Christmas tunes going. We looked at each other, then both of us started singing: "Heard this same song twenty times, And it's only Halloween! It's not even cold outside!" For those of you who don't recognize these lyrics, check out this video. Our K Mart started displaying the trees in September, so we changed the lyrics slightly each time we went there: It's September, stores with plastic Christmas Trees.... ChocolateReignRemix
We have to complete about half of our Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving so I like it.

Vida Winter
I often play Christmas music in the summer, just because.
AK_Mom4
DD13 has been teasing me lately because she came down early one morning and discovered my secret vice - in the mornings before anyone else is up, I play Christmas music. Loudly. And I Sing along.
Word Nerd
A friend posted photos of their downton holiday lighting the other night. Too early! ETA: D'oh! You know you've been watching Downton Abbey too long when you mistype downtown.
MrsMommy
I don't mind when stores have their Christmas stuff for sale out early, because there are plenty of people that want to shop ahead for different reasons. It does make me raise an eyebrow when they have the actual store decorations up in early October, though.
