Stayseeliz
We watched season one not realizing it was season one. We thought it was a complete series. We were shocked when the credits rolled!! Where was the rest?? We've debated watching season two online but we decided to wait until it comes on PBS after Christmas. DH said it would be something to look forward to during those long winter months after Christmas. I can't wait!
MyLittleWonders
I need to not open threads like this as I now have it in my queue on Netflix.
LaxMom
I can't find season 2. Where is season 2?!?! Series 3 is on deck for airing January 2012. I need to catch up. :willy_nilly:
Rebecca VA
Yes, it's wonderful! I can't wait to see the Season 2 DVD. I've been reading spoiler websites to find out what's going on. Doing that won't ruin things for me -- I can't bear suspense and am better off knowing what will happen so that I can relax and enjoy the story unfolding. Halftime Hope
I can't find season 2. Where is season 2?!?! Series 3 is on deck for airing January 2012. I need to catch up. :willy_nilly: Season 2 is finishing up airing in GB right now. The last episode (#8) will air on Sunday night. In January, PBS will air Season 2 in the US, not Season 3. KittyM
Oh I love it, love it, love it! I want to live in Downton Abbey! In fact, my whole family are slightly obsessed with it. We've probably spent an unhealthy amount of time pondering who from our family would fill the various roles if we actually lived there.... We recently finished watching season 2 (online) and we're hanging out now for the 2 hour (yes, TWO hour!) Christmas special which will be shown in the UK on Christmas day. We read a rave review about it the other day.
In the Rain
I added it to my Netflix queue. It looks like the kind of show we'll love!

Prairie~Phlox
I admit I have watched Season 2 online already. I just could not wait until January! There's a Christmas Special coming out as well.
Beth S
I've read that 5 of the cast members will be on the Today Show (in NYC) today (Thursday AM). Anyone need ANOTHER reason to postpone school this morning?!? Ha. (Of course I can't find the link that announced this. My apologies.) Season 1 is on PBS (in the US) this month, Season 2 starts in January. There is also a Christmas Special to be broadcast in the UK on Christmas Day . . . so it will likely be on PBS at a later date. With one short PG scene, it is family-friendly costumed drama viewing. Edited December 15, 2011 by Beth S

Word Nerd
With one short PG scene, it is family-friendly costumed drama viewing. FWIW, I love Downton Abbey but disagree that it's a family-friendly show.
Julie Smith
FWIW, I love Downton Abbey but disagree that it's a family-friendly show. Considering the ages of my boys I don't watch it with them. If they come in the room I pause it. I do admit I don't like it when my kids refer to any non kid show I watch as a adult movie. Beth S
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/ Scroll down almost to the bottom of the page for the box containing the link. 1:42 clip--not really much! And another link: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/45669433/ns/today-books/t/step-back-time-world-downton-abbey/#.Tuos2vJjFXU And I will definitely yield in my previous post to say that the PG-related scenes are NOT family friendly. Vida Winter
I'm almost finished with Season 1. Love the series - the characters, and the costumes!
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
I keep recommending it but...if you enjoyed it be sure to search for Uptown Downstairs Abbey on YouTube. A wonderful Red Nose Day spoof. Does have spoilers so don't watch before you finish season 1.
