mom2agang
Well we want to honor our friends because they are great!! Friends. Idk Emmaleigh wasn't sticking. It wasn't " it". Well we decided we can honor great friends by having them as part of her life. Now I'm REALLY liking Evangelina Frances. Any ideas for nicknames? abbeyej
I definitely think it has a better fit with your other kids' names, and the more traditional spellings you've used for the other kids as well. I didn't really dislike Emmaleigh, but I think this one "works" better in your family.
Nakia
I love it! I don't know about nicknames. I'm not a fan of nicknames, in general, and it is such a beautiful name, I wouldn't want to shorten it. I bet your kids will think of something to call her. :001_smile:
Jami
I don't know any Evangelina, but the Evangline I know gets called "Eva" which is very sweet.
Parrothead
Evie EG Lena Fran Franny And for the pudgy baby stage - Gelly Belly
Starr
I do believe there is an "angel" in the middle of her beautiful name!
Crimson Wife
Very pretty and I think it goes much better with your other kids' names.
4kiddies
I would spell it Evangelena and call her Lena for short.
ElizabethB
I like Eva. You could also go with whatever cute names one of the other children comes up with! My little brother called my Eliz for a while when he couldn't pronounce the whole thing.
SonshineLearner
I have friends with an Evangeline and their daughter's nickname is Eva, pronounces "Ay va" :)
Dobela
in addition to the other suggestions: Angie Angela Frannie Fannie Angel
Karen A
The Evangeline I know is "Vangie", rhymes with Angie. Cuter said than written.
i.love.lucy
Your other kids names are so clearly Biblical, I'm just curious why you'd break that tradition now? As far as I know Evangelina isn't in the Bible. It sounds Italian. Evangeline was the pretty scullery maid in Nanny McPhee and I recall thinking just how beautiful it is! Eve fits in nicely with your theme!
elegantlion
I like Evie for a Nickname. My grandmother and aunt were both Eva, one was pronounced E(long e) - Va, the other Eh-va. So if you chose Eva for a nickname, know which way you want to pronounce it.

Eve fits in nicely with your theme! I was wondering the same thing (when I read the other thread), but wasn't sure if I should speak up. We went with Biblical names, and I knew when I did that, I would commit to doing all Biblical names. You don't HAVE to, that's just what I decided. AFwife Claire
The Evangeline I know is "Vangie", rhymes with Angie. Cuter said than written. I've heard Vangie as well, and it does sound cute! We have an "Evangelyne" in our church, and her nickname is Eva (pronounced Ee-va). I love the name Evangelina! Pretty! And it is Biblical because it means "good news" (like evangelist); it's just more New Testament than Old Testament.
mom2agang
We just don't like any more girl bible names. And we don't want to just give her a name because it will "fit" the theme. But we are trying to stay with a bible variation.
Matryoshka
I would spell it Evangelena and call her Lena for short. Or stick with the other spelling and call her Lina for short. Or Eva or Evie, also good. Not so fond of the Vangie option...
Veritaserum
My second dd is named after a dear friend of mine (Evangelina). My friend goes by Ina and we call my dd Eva ("Ay-vuh"). :)
Nakia
Evangeline was the pretty scullery maid in Nanny McPhee and I recall thinking just how beautiful it is! That's one of our favorite movies! If I every have another girl (pretty impossible since hubby had the V), I would probably use Evangeline for a middle name. I love it!! NanceXToo
Very nice! Seems a good fit for your family. And I like Eva or Eve or Evie for a nickname.
Cinder
My grandmother is an Evangeline and her siblings called her Van. :tongue_smilie: I prefer Lina. Cinder
LibraryLover
Evangeline is a very popular and pretty name. People will not mess it up. If you choose Eve as a nickname, it will go with the others.

Evangelina Ruth is also pretty if you wanted to include a Bible name, but not call her that. Eva is a lovely nickname.

Splash
Pretty name. I've always liked Evangeline and Evangelina is very pretty. nn: Eve, Lina, My daughters are Mattea and Eliah which are female variants of male Bible names so maybe something like that could work for a middle name.
