  1. I never had a restriction to screen time, so that's what I was allowed to do. TV/Computer/etc. If it takes their mind off of what's ailing them, then so be it. I used to have intense stomach pains for days without really knowing why and having a chance to be online and doing things distracted me from it. Also, when I used to have seizures, having the TV on was a lot of help after my parents would go back to bed during the nights.
  2. I don't think it'll change anything. A lot of people, not all, have a self-centered viewpoint in life, and they won't or don't notice what's going on with someone until it's ultimately too late. Too many say "I'll be there for you" but they really aren't in the end. With this, well, all I see is a bit for maybe a week and then life will go on, and people will start caring about something else. It's disheartening for sure, but that's how people are. They live in the there and now, and don't care much past that. All one can hope for I guess is that the person suffering reaches out to the right person, and gets the right help.
  3. I've been trying, and without much success, to use this book here http://www.amazon.com/English-Grammar-Drills-Mark-Lester/dp/0071598111 for grammar. But unfortunately, it's more exercises than teachings of how to get through the exercises themselves. My mom (my teacher and classmate sometimes!) and I can manage through it with the answer keys, but sometimes we don't get WHY something is a certain way. For example, the other day we were struggling through comparative and superlative adjectives, without much intro into WHAT they are. I'm no whiz at grammar, I need something that states what a noun is, adjective, verb, etc and gives examples of them with enough detail that I can grasp. Also, I can't afford much, so something that's relatively cheap would be nice. Thanks!
  4. It seems our house may have finally sold after 2-3 years of living with boxes!

  5. I only visited but the girl I was with tipped for the man washing the windows, but that was it. Not for the pumping itself.
  6. That's definitely strange, and makes it seem extremely 'girly' imo. Veruca doesn't even have that big of a role, either. Very strange decision, and creepy. She looks so fake!
  7. I have one like this http://www.amazon.com/Texas-Instruments-Programmable-Calculator-Packaging/dp/B0006ZZGZI/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1407553778&sr=8-15&keywords=texas+instruments+graphing+calculator but it may be a bit too much for you.
  8. Tea is just eh to me, and coffee gives me headaches after a while. I'll stick to water all day every day.
  9. First week of self-education done, and I've already learned tons that we never touched on in school!

Funny how that works, isn't it? Good for you!

It is, but it's so much fun!

  10. The only thing I enjoyed about Portland was the taxes, and the people pumping your gas for you. The green scenary is nice, but the constant rain and lack of sun was just too much for me and I was only there for a week. Wish you luck!
  11. I always go with Avery for my dividers. They have some with and without pockets (some are on both sides of the divider). For binders, I like just regular Heavy Duty Binders.
  12. My mom always told me to look up the word. It never helped because I would always get frustrated instead and then I won't know how the word is spelled. I would spell out a few, or at least help with hinting them along to the spelling.
  13. If I had that money, I'd put it towards us buying a house as we're almost pushed out of the one we're in now and we have nowhere to go. But it certainly wouldn't be enough, sadly.
  14. I found Adam-12 and Emergency on Netflix tonight, I'm extremely excited.

My kids have gone through both entire series several times over the past few years. Weirdly, my 4yodd is the one that likes Emergency the best!

  15. I bet her and my father would get along so well! This is his line of thinking too. He named me Candice, not Candy. I wouldn't apologize for it, by any means, just tell her that she needs to speak with her son about it then, or find another babysitter.
  16. It wouldn't bother me at all. My dad dislikes when anyone calls me candy or candi (as my name is Candice) but it's my name, it's my choice.
  17. Is this the topic you mean? http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/523683-did-you-have-a-baby-after-any-type-of-cervical-surgery/ I found it on page 3.
  18. I don't think I ever had a teacher say it to me now that I think about it. I don't really mind, but I've gotten to a point (from having friends that did mind) where I say "Blush you" or some variation.
  19. I agree so much. We've been trying to move for 2-3 years now, so we've had boxes packed up for about that long now. We might finally be moving forward towards leaving this house soon. I hope things work out for you quickly!
  20. Unemployed. To me, employed means you're getting paid to do what you do.
  21. Sometimes. Our youngest one does it even when she's awake.
  22. Wasn't expecting my rainbow resource center catalog to be so big! It looks like a phone book lol

Mine was just in our mail box, I was stunned by it's size! I can't stick it in the binder like I do with the others lol

I know! Just got mine, too. My DH asked me "Is that a yellow page book?"

  23. In the weekly ad sneak peek coming up part they have $1.99 binders if you recycle one of your old ones for $2. Weekly ad -> Organization -> scroll down to the upcoming deals available from 07/06 to 07/12 and you'll see the info for it. ETA: That's how it is for my store, might be a tad different for yours, but that's how I found it on the website.
  24. We just use a plastic container litter box, litter (can't remember the brand), and liners (Johnny Cat brand). There's nothing fancy about it. Since it's kept in the garage, next to a vent and an almost open side door, it doesn't smell much. It gets changed out once a week on trash day, which is enough with two cats. As for the littler going everywhere, yeah it happens, but we sweep it up when we change the litter box.
