  1. I'm not sure if this quite fits, but this Home Economics covers a few things like meal manners, hospitality. and other random things that might be helpful, too. http://plainandnotsoplain.com/home-economics-household-and-personal-skills/ I saw this https://www.theetiquettefactory.com/products_list.php?catId=1 mentioned in a previous thread about the same topic. And there's some free options on here http://howtohomeschoolforfree.com/free-etiquette-manners-curriculum/
  2. Oh, I lived there for a long, long time! There isn't much in the city itself, you'd have better luck going to Phoenix for things to do. We even went to Wildlife World Zoo which is in Litchfield Park [long drive], but it was definitely worth it.
  3. For History, maybe Liberty Kids? You could also try finding some episodes of Wishbone for Literature. For Science you could try Magic School Bus.
  4. Mine has always been 5 days or thereabouts. It's just the time between the finish of one and the start of another that never ever seems to be consistent.
  5. I actually watched one episode over on HGTV of Tiny House Hunters and they had 3 children (2 under 3 or 4) and a baby that they would have up in the loft which only had one ladder to go between the two loft areas. So they said they were each sleeping with the kids in the separate areas. I just couldn't bring myself to do that, I wouldn't be able to sleep.
  6. I had a job similar to that at our mall for two holidays, it was so much fun!
  7. I can sometimes do well without much sleep, but after a while I get extremely shaky
  8. If you're worried about the student using the computer and accessing sites they shouldn't while working on school work give Forest [there's phone and browser versions] a try, it allows you to list sites that aren't accessible during a timeframe, and motivates the student to stay on task by growing a tree every 30 mins. If they venture away, they'll kill the tree. For history, my favorite website is http://besthistorysites.net/ , there's so much content on it! Also google sites with documentaries, there are a lot free online for times when you just want something to watch. Documentary Heaven is a great one.
  9. I tried to buy some loose leaf paper for myself, but the nearly $10 for shipping on paper that was less than $2 kind of killed it for me. I'll probably just go visit Wal-Mart later and see what they have, hopefully it'll have some good deals. For fun though, maybe some scented markers? The Mr. Sketch ones were always my favorite growing up.
  10. We have a few mouse toys that we leave by the door, so when our cat is too close and we don't want her outside, we throw the toy and off she runs after it.
  11. I don't think it's really that expensive, especially if you book your flight out far enough ahead. I thought it would be, but really it isn't. I have a flight in September from Texas to Jersey that only cost me less than $200. Last minute is always going to cost more, unfortunately.
  12. Nope, never. My aunt did once when we went to see Julie & Julia though, it really took away from the experience.
  13. I gave it a try, but apparently it doesn't work well in a car when you keep zooming past the gyms and pokestops lol!
  14. In this piece: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-charged-sexually-assaulting-13-year-old-girl-flight-article-1.2681080 it states that she tried to move his hand, and crossed her legs even, but the man would laugh and do it again. Also says he was drunk. The poor girl was probably TERRIFIED, so stop blaming her for something that she tried to avoid. Blame the pervert of a man who couldn't keep his hands to himself. Blame the man that wouldn't listen to the word "No".
  15. There's a report now that 4 officers are dead, 1 of them (I believe) being a member of DART. Homeland Security is also there. Dallas Twitter has released a photo of what they're claiming is one of the suspects. Absolutely awful situation.
  16. I usually use Nyquil, but sometimes I take something that's like Robitussin, but it begins with a Wal. It's from Walgreens, so I assume it's their brand.
  17. I use a domain provider called NameSilo, the protection of WHOIS comes free, and their renewal fee (usually $9) is the cheapest I've seen thus far.
  18. Remembered another, the K9 Advantix version Hello Mother, Hello father, fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, really bother, thanks for the package, that's why I'm writing, K9 Advantix quickly stopped all the biting!
  19. I don't even live in Arizona anymore, but thanks to an ad jingle [i guess it's one lol] I know I have a friend in the diamond business at Shane Co on Scottsdale Road and Acoma, one mile South of Bell Road open weekdays til 8, sat & sun til 5, online at [website lol]
  20. Wow, I'm glad I'm just visiting via an airplane and not driving around at all.
  21. Rent for our family, Health Insurance just for myself.
  22. We never do, but we're going to watch 1776. That's it really.
  23. I don't really know any recent kids shows unfortunately, but the ones with gentle messages that I grew up on Mr. Rogers, Franklin, Little Bear, Bear in the Big Blue House, Sagwa: The Chinese Siamese Cat, Between the Lions. Most of these can be found on Youtube, or cheap on Amazon for DVDs.
  24. It's been on AMC for a few weeks now, episode 7 of 10 airs tomorrow. I'm assuming it'll hit Netflix around this time or March/April next year like they did with Season 2. It popped up about a month to the season premiere. You can, I believe, find them on Amazon Video I think, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
  25. TURN: Washington's Spies. It's historical, but it's so enthralling. If you watch all of Season 1 and 2 on there, you can find somewhere else to watch Season 3, or wait until it's added later.
