  1. My vote is GDI. My dd's handwriting has improved tremendously since starting the program late last year.
  2. We were going to build but realised that it would be better (cheaper) to buy a newish house. We bought the first one we saw and it is 6 years old.
  3. I just had a look and the pics are at homeschoolcreations.net. Tag is our classroom. :)
  4. I've been looking at Easy Grammar (for the future) and what I have learned is that the TM has the blank student pages in it. So left page is student page with answers and right page is blank student page. Using Easy Grammar and Daily Grams together is overkill. That is all I know at the moment, but no doubt someone with experience will help you out more :)
  5. I love sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. But for chills down the spine, I have to say Daniel Craig. Apart from being gorgeous, he really brings something different to the Bond role.
  6. Wow, what a list!!! Thankyou for sharing your ideas.
  7. Parsnips, pavlova, still pink meat and I reaaaaaaaaaally hate licorice.
  8. DD was in Prep/Kinder from Jan-June of 2011 but I pulled her out due to physical, verbal and emotional bullying by boys in her class and another. I had never even considered homeschooling until I came across it while googling. I am so very grateful now that I can HS my children.
  9. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: My deepest sympathy to you and everyone involved.
  10. Thankyou so much for making the videos. I too have rods sitting on a shelf not being used.
  11. I saw the thread title and thought "Now where do I know that from???" Thanks for the reminder ladies :) This. I was bummed when the book ended like that. Poor Jem. If I am remembering correctly, I got the impression after reading the book that Jem was only held in a room or cupboard somewhere and not actually taken through the portal. Do any of you read the spin-off books? The ones about Lord Grey (I think that's his name)
  12. I couldn't hear it but I definitely felt it!!! I'm 26. My ears feel horrible now :-\
  13. Thanks for the reply Ecclecticmum. I hadn't heard about the trouble finding the SGP edition, I was choosing between SGP and Standards because SGP is metric, uses our spelling and things like that. But I do love the look of Standards samples I have seen. If other Aussie mums are choosing Standards without problems then maybe it will be okay. Hmmm...
  14. Singapore Math experts I have a question about the HIGs. Here is Australia we can get the Singapore edition of SM which can be used with the US HIGs. Now I have read here and other places that the US HIGs aren't as good as the Standards HIGs. Now for my question: I want to know WHY people say the Standards HIGs CANNOT be used with US SM?? Is it because of the added topics, rearranging of topics etc?? Or something else?? Could you use the Standards HIG by just using the chapters/pages you need for that particular lesson, and completely ignore the Standards added lessons/info etc?? Am I even making sense?? I am undecided between using Singapore edition or Standards edition of the maths program because of the choice between the two HIGs. Please HELP ME!! :001_smile:
  15. I saw differently to you guys, I thought the horse only had 3 legs!!!!
