  1. :hurray:Your day sounds very productive... I love getting the things where they need to go. And I excell in Big Messes!
  2. I need to join in before our new books arrive on Friday. Today I'm going through (have to inventory them with ISBN#s) last years and getting a box ready to mail out. It seems like I'm getting a little bit done, and trying very hard not to make a huge mess.
  3. Nioxin, shampoo and condition may help. It's available at almost any salon or Sally's Beauty supply.
  4. Cream of Wheat has a lot of iron in; if she can tolerate it. My midwife recommended eating it when I was expecting my second. I hope their rec is helpful and she is feeling better / peppier soon.
  5. I'm glad they were able to fix it. :hurray:
  6. Things to love about skinny jeans... 1. You can be short and they aren't too long; no need to hem, cuff or walk on them. 2. They fit easily into boots. My dd loves them; I'm still a bit leary. I'm definitely not changing out all my jeans, but a pair or two can update a wardrobe.
  7. I'd love to read his essay. That's too funny, and we've all read a number of dull ones; *inserts your ds's phrase here*.
  8. I don't have any advice, but it sounds like more discussion with your dd would be a good idea.
  9. I would replace it; that repair bill is too high for my comfort. Consumer reports has an article about repairing vs. replacing appliances. We have free on-line access through our library.
  10. Winter always hits me hard. Keeping focused and somehow finding the will to encourage them when I want to fly somewhere with a beach. High school has been the most difficult; it feels like all their piers are in a traditional school setting now.
  11. Stay calm and don't let your imagination drive you crazy; it's tough, but not the end of the world. Try to prepare yourself mentally for this discussion and what you want vs. what is best. If he is using them, that's better than not using them. I would also want to ensure his partner was using another form of bc, because we all know these are not fail proof. On the other other hand, they could be a camp-prank or as another poster suggested a test run for future use. :grouphug: Big hug, I hope the conversation go well. Dad might be a better conversation facilitator than mom.
  12. Well said. Ime, I live in a city that brews up monster batches of HFC-syrup and the stuff stinks like crazy. The smell alone would turn most any stomach.
  13. I went with an amazon $50 free shipping Breadman last year because I like baking in the oven too. Mine is most always used on the big dough setting, and then I split the batch for a cinnamon raisin loaf and an artisan or french loaf. I like the Zo too, but I don't think I could justify the funds for it.
  14. :grouphug: I think it's okay to be sad too. We desperately needed room in our dining room two years ago. I forced myself to sell our piano. Now for some reason I expected dd to grieve with me, but she shrugged and said she didn't play it anyway and was finally free not to feel guilty about it. I think focusing on blessing other families who will use and love stuff you've outgrown is helpful. Taking pictures is nice too.
  15. One of our local weather men, loves to say this... It's juicy out today. :tongue_smilie: Gag, it's humid and he thinks he's cute. Oh, maybe gag too.
  16. I'll support you, and I wouldn't worry about what other people think, dress how you want.
  17. I put cleaner in the toilet and clean it there; then it's back to the plunger holder. Oh, and I'd have a heart attack if someone washed it in the tub or sink. :w00t:
  18. Thanks for posting this. I'm coming to believe the stuff is plain old toxic. Dh just had a distant cousin 50 who died from liver cancer.
  19. I would have to spend a lot of time at places with AC or in a pool. Heat I can handle, but heat + humidity melts my soul. My mom's family is from the south and they never had air-conditioning when we visited. We played outside during the day (pool or sprinkler) and opened all the windows at night with a fan on. It was pretty much miserable and hard to sleep. Have you considered purchasing a small window unit? Walmart had one for $89.00 dollars or rolling non-window units for under $300.
  20. Staples, Office Max and Amazon all sell them.
