dsmith
I bought this dress in navy for an upcoming wedding: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/dkny-balloon-sleeve-faux-wrap-dress?ID=13632265&lid=pdp_details I have skin issues on the soles and sides of my feet (psoriasis) and can't wear shoes without socks and tons of lotion to keep my feet from cracking. I thought a pair of dress boots/booties would look nice, so I purchased a pair in navy. It's impossible to match navy colors and they looked terrible with the dress!!! They were super comfortable though. They had the same boot in an almond color: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0981DD69H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Are there any other colors or styles I should consider? It is an October wedding. Also, I need to have wide shoes lately. I guess I'm having a lot of inflammation, too. 😭
alisoncooks
If you google “navy dress nude boot” you’ll see a lot of good combos. Those colors go well. I’m not 100% sure that style of dress would work with a boot. It’s very flowy, so a boot may be too much of a difference in style? Idk — I wear crocs with socks so I certainly am not a style genius. ETA: a quick google of “flowy dress bootie” shows that it does work…but most of them look more casual. prairiewindmomma
A few thoughts: 1. If your feet are such that you can't go even a few hours without severe cracking, I hope you and your derm are looking at biologics or laser treatment or something to help you get to a better place. You're always fighting an infection risk with psoriasis. You might want to investigate options with wound care specialists also--I could see clear hydrocolloid bandages maybe working for you. It would keep it moist, it would be clear, and studies are showing something like 50% of plaques resolve after 10 weeks of use. 2. The style of dress that you've chosen makes it hard to pair with booties. It's really meant to be paired with an open sandal or heel. If it is an outdoor wedding, country style, you might be able to swing dress cowboy boots with it. 3. I typically pair navy, if I can't match the navy, with anything along the brown spectrum or with a bright contrast--coral, yellow, Kelly green, etc.
Katy
Nude or brown look great with navy. I’d go with brown because it’s fall. If it was Spring, various shades of coral or pink would look great.
Catwoman
I would not wear boots with that dress. (Sorry! 😞 )
dsmith
Maybe I need to rethink the dress, or see if I can handle pumps with really low no-show socks. My feet weren't this flared when I purchased it. 😟

What do you wear for shoes normally? If you want to wear the boots because they work for you, I think I would look for a different dress. Catwoman
@dsmith -- Do you have to wear a dress? How about some dressy pants and a fancy top? That way, you could wear comfortable shoes.
KatieJ
Gosh really, but the taupe boots and wear it! Both are gorgeous. You need to be comfortable and wear what works for you. No one who matters will be looking at your feet .
heartlikealion
Would it be terrible to wear pants instead of a dress?? Many style dresses for weddings would maybe not look the best with boots. But if I was going to wear boots to a wedding, I tend to go with knee high and a long skirt or dress. If it's cold enough you could even wear a sweater dress. Maybe not helpful though. I also have feet issues so if I wear dressy shoes that aren't boots I can't add my insoles and I can't wear them long. My dress boots have insoles in them, but they don't help that much. Arcadia
I tend to pair my navy blue clothes with dark blue or black shoes. In blue suede, high heels e.g. https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/vince-camuto-temindal-bootie/538371?activeColor=460 Navy, block heel e.g. https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/bella-vita-arlette-bootie/544193

I've been wearing slippers lately, lol. I may look for another dress. I've seen similar dresses but with a print paired with boots, so I may go in that direction. I saw a picture of a very similar dress to the one I have paired with sparkly silver boots, but that's not me, lol.

I wouldn't wear a dress if I were you. There are lots of dressy options for pants! 🙂 Personally, the idea of a dressy dress with boots just doesn't work for me at all, especially for a wedding. Clarita
If I had your issues. I would do something like a nude bootie, with a point. Actually kind of like the ones you picked out. The almond description has me concerned. Essentially I would pick a pair of shoes maybe one shade lighter than your skin color or a near match to your skin color. On a casual day I would totally wear that dress with a pair of cowboy boots too. I actually think it's a pretty versatile dress.
Ausmumof3
I can’t see the dress anymore. Flowy dresses sometimes get worn with cowboy boots here and that looks ok but not so much formal dresses.
Carol in Cal.
I think I would go with cowboy style boots, because they pretty much go with everything. Brown leather, or bone.
Jann in TX
Brown or tan/nude/bone-- I would go with a taller boot that would compliment the fun hem of that dress.
