thegeyser
I have a friend who helped put together last year's Build Your Bundle package. I actually passed over it last year, because I'd already purchased most of my curriculum and didn't feel like I could justify anything that didn't actually fit into my plan. That said, I've wished I'd gotten all the Ellen McHenry materials that were included, because now we'll be hitting botany in a few weeks. I think I'd like the EMH curriculum better than what we've been using.I don't know what publishers will be included, but she did say that they will be having one geared toward secular home schoolers as well as a Charlotte Mason one again. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that the sale will happen sometime in May. I know now is the season that folks are scoping out the sale seasons for different publishers (at least I do!) and hope this information helps someone out.
Jackie
I have everything I need. And most of what I want. There is no need for me to buy anything. But what is Build a Bundle? Is there a website? Even if I don't buy, I like to go poke around :)
thegeyser
I don't know. There was a web site last year. I can Google it and see what there is out there now.
thegeyser
Hmm. I remember that there was a similar one soon after, so I don't want to link something and have it be the wrong bundle sale. From what I remember, people could choose something like 5 options. I just remember that there were several Ellen McHenry options that I really liked and so I am hoping those are offered again. I wish I could be more help.

dauphin
I didn't get anything and have lived fine without it but there's a few things available last time that I'm hoping might be offered again and that I kind of wished I d gotten then.... I plan to get the $59 Build Your Own bundle with: Ellen McHenry Carbon Chem and the Brain Write From History Level 2, Early Modern and Modern The Fun Spanish Around the World Geography Copywork Quark Chronicles Botany Classical Astronomy Field Guide Fine Art Page 1 and 2
Slache
I emailed them through their website about the coupon, and they responded immediately. I never received an email and now the website says it's too late. I emailed them again now. All I think I want is the copywork bundle. I like a lot of what they have but I'd want hard copies of those particular items.

kiwik
I am looking at, Ellen McHenry Elements and Carbon, Math Essentials Fractions, Vocabulary Bridges or Quark chronicles and one of the Duct tape warefare books. I did get a single use code but I may have deleted it.
Elfknitter.#
Wish the secular bundle had more options. I don't need math. When I tried the "build your own bundle" option, many of the secular options were not available.

Mrs. Y
I don't need anything right now, but I took a peek. ATTN Charlotte Mason type homeschoolers: Those Write From History books (by Kimberly Garcia) are great!
MrsWeasley
Is the coupon still there? I don't see it. I've also been debating about what to fill up the rest of the $59 Build Your Bundle with. I already have: Write from History L2 Early Modern, Draw Around the World USA, all three of the Ellen McHenry sciences, which is what I really wanted. Especially if you are a secular homeschooler, what would you recommend to fill out the order?

independenteasel
I just bought a bundle for the first time ever. I already decided against the McHenry chemistry books for my rising 7th grader based on a gut inclination that it just wasn't going to be meaty enough for him (after reading many, many reviews). Then my rising 5th grader changed gears and wants chemistry for fall too.... Then DD/5th picked some books at a curricula sale that are on the Guesthollow schedule, which also schedules McHenry. Then I could get both McHenry chem books, The Brain, and two more items for less than the regular cost of one McHenry chem book at BYOB. Okay. Fine. I can live with that deal. :p Since Write From History wasn't in the BYO options I had to hunt hard for two other items we'd actually use. Or didn't duplicate something else already on my shelf. :001_huh: In the end I went with a couple catechism books. I'm thinking of them as freebies, so if we don't use them it's not a big deal. The Write From History Books are in the Build Your Own Premium options (the first two drop-downs only.)

SilverMoon
independenteasel - Ah well. Live and learn. :001_smile: There isn't enough there that I'd actually use (or don't already have an alternative) for me to make another set of 5; I have been homeschooling for a long time. Is there a benefit to purchasing via her site instead? Normally she sends a CD with the files on it. The file contains the student book plus notes for the teacher plus activities/games to print. I don't think she has the download option on her site, just the CD or print (I think she still offers print, not sure).

kirstenhill
It's driving me nuts that you can't combine the build-your-own with the pre-built for the buy-2-get-1. Or that there isn't an option for BYO that includes the mid-priced items but not the highest-price premium options. (I don't need any of the premium items but there is one mid-priced item I really want). They would get me to buy a $25 and a $19 plus a $12 one free if you could combine that way...as it is, I will probably settle for 2 $19s and a cheaper one free, and just go without a few things or buy directly from the publishers.
