ikslo
It's a new day. A brand new* chance for everything to go swimmingly, my child to complete his schoolwork with aplomb, and Squillions to drop into my lap. Wish me luck and good fortune. *That would be fresh from the fire new, not bought in a store from a specific company, okay? Please don't be confused. I don't want commercialism to sully my day.

AMJ
I don't know. I didn't think to look because I could see them. That's what's so frustrating. I trusted my eyes and they lied. I should pluck them out as punishment. If you like the colors as they appear to you then there's no worries. It doesn't matter what they are called, and you can give them new color names to use in your household. Don't pluck out your eyes, either. The difference in apparent color could be due to optic nerves, how your brain translates eye input, or even some external factors, such as lighting. If you ever want to see how much a single color can seem to differ try doing paint swatches in different locations throughout your house, each location at different times of day. It's enough to drive one insane when trying to decide if a paint color will coordinate with existing floors.

AMJ and Renai-I'm putting in the names of the recipes in my magical language Isn't some of your content for adults? I don't mean x-rated or anything! But still, for an adult readership? And don't you read things aloud? This is one of my concerns, but honestly, I'm less concerned about that than having to critique a young writer. I'm very, very careful when it comes to working with the boys, and I would really rather this child stay with the teen group. I've met their leader, and she's a great mentor, and enthusiastic, and encouraging. All things that young writers need.

KrissiK
Good Morning! Had my first cup of COFFEE! Now I'm working on the oatmeal. Had to have frozen blueberries instead of fresh. Walmart was out of fresh. Our friend in ag told us Sunday that nobody's harvesting blueberries at this time. But he showed us some amazing pictures of his company's Peruvian farms that are developing blueberries the size of cherries. Slashie... I call it aqua. That's all I know. I saw no messy dresser, just an adorable baby! Critter... "yes" on only adults. Stand firm, my friend. Jean.... yay for dodging spam. Candy corn is just meh for me. I prefer chocolate. I know someone who goes through her children's Halloween bags snitching the Hershey's miniatures. Junie.... yay for productive homeschooling! Susan... excellent cheer! I'm sending you a set of Pom-Poms and a short skirt! Ikslo.... Hope you're feeling better! Ellie.... Tex taught me how to multi-quote. It's not hard and quite addictive! The blood was a creative touch! PS: I will never eat banana ketchup. Although when I was in Brazil we had this lunch that had Brazilian rice with some kind of shredded meat and stuff on top and they they put a bunch of sliced bananas on that. It was really good. Only had that once in this little cafe at the end of this long drive through the mountains. It was a bizarre trip! But the meal was good. And the cafe was very Charming! ikslo
FTFY. Ellie, Click on MultiQuote for the first post you want to quote. It's between the Report button and the Quote button. The MultiQuote button you just clicked will turn Candy Apple Green :hat: . You will see a window pop up in the lower right of your screen with a black button that says, "Reply to 1 quoted post(s)" - DO NOT CLICK ON IT. LEAVE IT ALONE. Scroll to the next post you want to quote, and click on the MultiQuote button. It, too, will turn green, and the number in your black pop up box will change to 2. "Reply to 2 quoted posts(s)" Continue to scroll and select the MultiQuote button for all of the quotes you want to use in your post. When you have selected them all, click on the "Reply to X quoted post(s)" They will then all appear in your reply box, and you can insert your responses between each one. Click Add Reply to post. Continue reading ITT. Ignore all other threads. HTH! Edited September 21, 2016 by ikslo

Young writer -- what you said right there cuts to the quick of the matter. Even when they are more worldly and able to handle "more adult" content their brains are still developing and it can be harder to appropriately handle and use a critique's feedback instead of just seeing it as being slammed.

AMJ
Good Morning! We are having a productive homeschool day for the first time in months. I have not had a significant headache in weeks ( ), but the insomnia is really making homeschooling difficult. Hooray!!!! Yay for you and your kids! Our homeschool day today is more productive than it has been in weeks for us, too. I'm still struggling with making everything play nice together in life now, but we got back to Logic today and the kids (so far) are really liking certain topics being once-a-week topics. I hope your insomnia goes away and you get good sleep. I was going to say that I hope your insomnia improves, but today we discussed misunderstandings due to ambiguity, and I realized "improving insomnia" could mean it is getting stronger instead of disappearing.
