DesertBlossom
I think about it all the time. How wonderful it would be. I want my children and my husband to leave the house for a whole week (or two!) and leave me home alone so I can deep clean and declutter without the added stress of making meals, cleaning up spills, doing laundry, etc. I can't get anything done because I can barely keep on top of the messes my 8, 7, 6, 4 and 1 year olds make. And they do chores, but they still are much more work than they are helpful. Seriously, I just need them out of the house. I'm insanely jealous of my SIL who sends her to kids to my ILs house for a week at a time a couple times a year. (We live too far away to do that)

ddcrook
I completely understand! When my kids were little all I wanted for Mother's Day was for my husband to get them out of house for a few hours so I could clean.

AMJ
This all sounds so good, but it's missing the chocolate! Must have top quality, really dark chocolate! It just isn't a dark fantasy without it.
DesertBlossom
I completely understand! When my kids were little all I wanted for Mother's Day was for my husband to get them out of house for a few hours so I could clean. I need them out for more than a few hours. Lol! I need to wash blinds and fans. I need to defrost a deep freezer. I need to sort through the bins of clothes in kids' clothes. I need to get rid of so much junk in all our closets. I desperately to clean out and reorganize our pantry. The drawers in my kitchen haven't been wiped out in forever. I need a trailer to haul off the random junk in the backyard, like the trampoline the kids destroyed. There's just so.much.to.do.

speedmom4
That sounds almost perfect. My perfect fantasy would include keeping my husband home but sending all the kids away. He is an incredible cleaner/organizer plus he his much stronger than me and can move heavy boxes or furniture easily. And we would have time for romance! 😜
blondeviolin
My dream is that I go away and come back to a spotless house fully decluttered and organized. Yes. We should all petition some TV network to make a show in which they send homeschoolers on awesome educational vacations while they clean, declutter and organize the house. Um_2_4
Oh! Add me to the list for that show! I would love to have like Ikea come in and organize everything....new book shelves, the whole deal.....
trulycrabby
DH and DS10 do a camp out every fall and spring, and for two days it is heaven. I sit and read books, work out all I want, watch cruddy tv shows like True Blood, and eat ice cream for dinner. :o

I sit and read books, work out all I want, watch cruddy tv shows like True Blood, and eat ice cream for dinner. :o Every so often I bow out of going to my in-laws' for supper and send DH and the kids without me. I watch Criminal Minds or anything else that takes my fancy, eat what I like, and generally ignore the many things I could be doing while alone and unencumbered. In reality I need more vacations with the family. I go on a cleaning binge just before each vacation, so our house is more pleasant when we come back. Since that seems to be the most effective spur for me I obviously need more of them. It's for our own good!
JustEm
I'd rather order pizzas, buy a bunch of beer, and invite all my siblings and their spouses to come help organize/declutter/do some major fixes. We just did this for my parents while they were on a cruise for 3 weeks and it was fun having everyone to help and entertain each other. The best part, we agreed to keep it up and do my sil's house, then mine, then continue down the line till we all have wonderful houses. Mom in High Heels
My deepest fantasy is to have Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin O'Donoghue, and Richard Dean Anderson come clean and declutter my house for me, while I watch. Also, they would feed me and give me foot rubs. ;)
EndOfOrdinary
I would just like to throw out there that I like these forums so much! Whenever I feel discouraged or frustrated or crazy, you all are right here posting such lovely things that make me realize I am not crazy and my husband has NO clue what it feels like to be a homeschooling mom. (Not exactly that he should considering he is a public school teaching Dad, but he sure likes to think he knows how it feels.)

Do we have to take the kids? :leaving: OH! Or are they going on the super awesome educational vacation and we go to an isolated tropical beach and sip fruity drinks while the TV network cleans, declutters, adn organizes? Perfect! Negin
My children are 16 and almost 15 and I have this fantasy several times a day, every single day. For me, it's not just about the children. I'm one of those rare types that needs lots and lots of alone time in order to stay sane. I don't get anything done when anyone's around. Hence why I had no roommates in college. DawnM
My husband is leaving on Sunday for a 5 day training. We normally go with him but this year we can't. I plan to do much of what you have mentioned!
imagine.more
I have the same fantasy! I send my kids to VBS for a week in the summer and do exactly that :) It's not perfect but it keeps me relatively sane and helps me catch up on house stuff a good bit. I just need to find a good overnight camp for a week each summer and the dream could happen! haha!

AMJ
My dream is that I go away and come back to a spotless house fully decluttered and organized. My only fears with that are that they will throw out certain treasures, like the 70+-year-old potato masher Grandma B used for decades in feeding her family, and I won't know where anything is afterwards. THIS! Since my surgery, I can't lift my arms over my head, which means I can't put stuff in the upper cabinets. James Bond or Indy have to unload most of the dishwasher, and the put them in the most random places, even though they all have a specific place! WHY? Joules
I fantasize about The Gold Watch. I want to stop time for everyone else, sleep 'til I'm not tired anymore and actually get caught up!
wendyroo
My birthday tradition is that on the weekend near my birthday DH and I spend the whole day Saturday cleaning the house while the children are parked in front of the TV for the whole day...we lay out picnic blankets and just occasionally throw more snacks in their direction. Then on Sunday DH takes any non-baby children on a field trip for several hours and I get to bask in the ephemeral cleanliness. Carrie12345
I've never gotten a full week, but I have gotten 2-3 days here and there. My house is pretty small, so I do manage to get a lot done. And then they come back and it's back to the way it was in a fraction of the time it took to clean. Sigh.
Lisbeth
Same here. I never, ever get that. Never. NEVER. Also my husband is a homebody. I sometimes want to get a giant shovel, dig him out of the house, and fling him somewhere else for the day. Only sort of kidding. ;)
