Good news and bad news ...

I'll give you the bad news first... not terrible news... I still have a sinus infection.  I've taken antibiotics for one month now.  My doctor gave me a new kind of antibiotics to start taking.  Hopefully this kind will do the trick.  If it doesn't I have to go to a specialist. I'm so tired of seeing doctors.

The good news is I will start getting disability payments in October.

I sincerely hope that you don't have to do what finally cleared up my sinus infection (after 8 consecutive different antibiotics) - I had to do a nasal saline rinse with the addition of white vinegar and baby shampoo.  Painful as anything but it broke down the bacteria's resistance to the antibiotic because it broke down what is a called a biofilm - sort of like a wet suit defense that some bacteria can make as a protection.

Luanne just don't do what I did.  A stupid article convinced me that if I put some peroxide in my sinus saline bottle it would help to break down that "biofilm" that Jean was talking about.

I thought I was going to die.  It foamed up and foamed right out of my nose.  Oh my face hurt so bad for 2 days!  However, I didn't have any more sinus problems for a long time! LOL   Don't do it, it's not worth it.

Are you just taking antibiotics, or are you also doing nasal sprays? If not, ask your doctor for a prescription to Nasonex, or go buy some Nasacort over-the-counter. Also try using saline nasal rinse several times per day.

Antibiotics are notoriously not great at addressing sinus infections. Using the nasal spray meds and saline treats the actual infection site. In combination with the antibiotics this route is often more effective.
