I just cannot believe it. . .

Recommended Posts

I have more stamina than my dd9! :driving: One year ago I could not vacuum my living room without having extreme pain and fatigue. I went to a Naturopathic specialist in April. I was diagnosed with parasites and put on anti-parasitics for 3 months (the usual treatment time is 3 days. . . ). I felt much better after the treatment but he warned me that I might need another treatment. I got really sick over the winter and started to wind down again. I treated myself for candida and parasites because I didn't want to travel over 1000 miles to go to the specialist again. I ended up poisoning myself with one of the ingredients, so I don't recommend that route. BUT I must say that it has worked on my energy and stamina.

Yesterday I went on a 40 min. bike ride (20 min. to dd's speech therapy and then back). Today we're cleaning the whole house. Dd9 (the energizer bunny) has retired to the couch with a book, too tired to move. Ds13 is still with me but even he's tired. I'm tired too but not in pain. After a short break I'll be back at it again! I'm hoping that I'll be able to move tonight when we have guests at our house. . .

That is fantastic!!!

I know you don't recommend the route you went, but do you mind saying what treatment you used?

My sister has had major energy/mood/GI issues after a round of antibiotics a couple years ago, my daughters have food intolerance/GI/mood/sleep issues, and I'm starting to think all of it is related to imbalanced gut flora. Yeast, bacteria, parasites, who knows.

But without giving medical advice...can you mention some things that we might check out with our biomed practitioner?

I'm so glad you've noticed a big change. It's hard living with chronic issues.

My naturopathic doctor put me on two prescription meds (Pin-X and Mebendazole) - the main thing he did was to put me on the regular dose for much longer than it is normally prescribed with some breaks. If you wanted specific details PM me. He also put me on Wormwood for the entire 3 months.

I went on a product called Solaray "Yeast Cleanse" - it has caprylic acid, tea tree oil, garlic, grapefruit seed extract, licorice root and pau d'arco in it. The tea tree oil was the problem.

I also used oil of oregano in capsule form.

I just wanted to add that this wasn't an easy fix. The 3 months on the prescription meds and wormwood came with side effects as my body was rid of "the nasties". I didn't have very strong immunity at that time either because all my bodies' energies were devoted to fighting the parasites. The second time around would probably been fine if I had done it under a Dr's oversight with perhaps a different formula. I didn't have as many side effects. The one side effect I had - a rash- turned out to be a reaction to the tea tree oil.

Parasites can make you feel tired and rundown with no other symptoms? That is wild...and something I would have never expected! I say this because my cat brought in giardia a few months ago and I am pretty sure we never got it...but i have noticed in the last month, I have been SO tired! I sleep until 10am, sometimes 11 if something doesn't wake me up. It really makes me wonder now if I DID get them and just never had the common symptoms. Hmmm...

At any rate, I am glad you are feeling SO good!!

I did have some G-I symptoms but they were intermittent. Apparently certain symptoms only show at certain times in a parasite's life cycle so it can be hard to pinpoint the cause. It's also hard to test for parasites because you only eliminate them at certain points in their life cycle and so it would only show up in a test done at the right time. Because it was intermittent I just thought it was something I ate every now and then.

Thank you, everyone. My dh just came in and his jaw dropped at a clean house. I was still working and he said, "Are you in pain yet?" Nope! That doesn't mean that I won't probably won't be good and tired tonight and I may even be achey tomorrow.

Ain't it grand to feel good?!!!!
