LauraGB
I voted no. But don't tell my kids. They still think I'm a little cool. When they say, "You know so-and-so, right?" I just say, "What about them?" and then I keep my cover.
Orthodox6
I have not listened to AM radio in decades !
peachskittles
Could I name one on there right now? No...But I could go through the list and either know some of the songs or artists on there.
melissel
Could I name one on there right now? No...But I could go through the list and either know some of the songs or artists on there. Yeah, I have no idea where songs rank, but I knew 4 out of the 10 on the list. I couldn't have told you that they were in the top 10 if you'd asked me. Crissy
No, but I probably couldn't name a single top ten song when I was 18, either. I prefer silence to background music. :)
lionfamily1999
Totally out of loop here. Is Nirvana on there?

Earth Angel_79
Totally out of loop here. Is Nirvana on there? I voted no....however, I don't feel so uncool. I actually listen to NPR and they play a lot of grrrrreat stuff in the evening. So when I talk about to my hipster younger cousin or my brother they know who I'm talking about. :D I learned about Regina Spektor, Peter Bjorn and John, Neko Case, etc. on there. I don't know if they are on the regular billboards, but I generally don't like pop anyway.
Word Nerd
Since the Taylor Swift song is on several stations any time I turn on the radio, I just assumed that she was on it currently. I had to check, but she is. Edited September 14, 2009 by WordGirl
mirth
Totally out of loop here. Is Nirvana on there? Yeah in the late 70's I heard a comedian joke that his son asked him if were true that Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings!
TXMary2
No. I don't listen to regular radio. We listen to KLOVE, talk radio or educational/kid song cd's. The only reason I know certain names of today's pop stars is because when I log on to the computer the stories flash across my main screen. lionfamily1999
Yeah in the late 70's I heard a comedian joke that his son asked him if were true that Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings! LOL, last year about this time there was a thread on here about where we'd failed as hsing parents. It pretty much revolved around our kids not knowing who Hendrix or the Beatles were. I ended up buying some new cds for in the car (who needs to know Chopin?)kidding, I'm kidding, we've reverted back to classical, but we do pump up the oldies every once in awhile, including but not limited to Stone Temple Pilots, the Beejees, and Janis Joplin. Tutor
Is Taylor Swift's You Belong With Me still in the top 10? If so, then yes. Otherwise, no. ;) ETA: Well, waddaya know. #6. Huh. Slartibartfast
I don't really like pop or Hip-Hop. I looked at the Top Ten and the only band/group/person on there I might listen to would be the Black Eyed Peas. I don't know who a couple of them are though.

dirty ethel rackham
I couldn't tell you any of the songs. The only way I know about any of the current pop stars is reading the tabloid headlines in line at the supermarket. I don't really listen to pop music anymore. I usually listen to a Christian music station, Relevent Radio, NPR, or a classic/alternative rock station dh prefers.
Pretty in Pink
Something by Beyonce? Taylor Swift? I have no idea!
ChristusG
Nope, I only listen to country and Christian music.
BikeBookBread
Nope. Only listen to classical, jazz, NPR, Christian and talk. Occasionally we listen to the "oldies" station which NOW play some 90's!!
KidsHappen
No, even though I have tweens that have discovered the volume knob.
Dawn in OH
Not only can I not name a song, but I doubt I could name an artist either. I love music and I'd like to listen to more of it, but there's always either an educational video, singing the abc's, a kids video, a documentary, a TED talk, or just general racket going on here. On the rare occasion I get to listen to music, I pull out a cd rather than wade through radio stations looking for a song I like, or can tolerate. kat19
I voted yes, then went to look. I know 7/10.
aggieamy
Something by Beyonce? Taylor Swift? I have no idea! This would be me. I could probably guess an artist by what I've seen in the news lately. Yeah. I'm a dork. I only know Jay-z and Kanye because I read foxnews.com. Nope, I only listen to country and Christian music. Ditto this. I'd probably do better guessing songs in the top 10 on country radio.
