I've been having similar thoughts, too. Today there is a local toy drive and I kept thinking we need to do this but I can't follow through with it for some reason. It started as giving locally vs. globally and now I'm not sure a toy is going to really help anyone...

I think we will find out one day that 'organic' was a fraud. I think daycare has done more harm than good for families and society. I like fb and I post on it everyday. The words 'screen time' are like fingernails on a chalk board to me. I place no limits on electronics at our house. I like elf on the shelf I think sports on all levels is over-rated. I don't 'get' celebrity news at all. I think the ideal family is one with a father(man) and mother(woman).

I have 10 Mr. Potato Heads and I'm trying to think of something to do with them and our elf.

We are having a blast with our elf! My 3 year old loves finding him in the morning! We are not following any 'rules' that so many people seem to have their tinsel in a tangle about! So far our elf has brought a sleigh of elf kisses, camped out under the tree and roasted marshmallows and last night he was hanging out on the dart board. When we found him this morning he had fallen over and looked like he has hanging on for dear life lol

I miss having a real tree but 3/4 of my family is allergic. We have a very nice, pre-lit, artificial one though.

I bought an elf at Hobby Lobby for $2.

Our elf's name is TWO lol He will be arriving tomorrow with a sleigh full of elf kisses and instructions to make a paper countdown chain.

We took all of December off last year and it was an excellent decision! I wish we could do it this year.

We've never had pets. Dh and I both grew up with a whole slew of pets but have never wanted the responsibility of animals since we married. Our kids have never asked for pets either. I'd personally skip the pet thing because I don't like taking care of animals and if you think you will eventually be stuck doing the work, I'd skip it, too.

My guys would love this!! It's not a theme but this year we are going to do the clear balls w/acrylic paint. We did this when ds 1 was little and the paint is starting to fade or chip off. I also saw on pinterest cutting garland and putting it in clear balls. We are going to do this w/blue and silver tinsel. I would love to do a primitive country christmas tree.

I don't. I bought my oldest a baby's first Christmas when he was born. Occasionally I will pick up an ornament if I see something that he would like. When #2 came along I never could find a baby's first Christmas ornament that I liked, so 3 years later I haven't bought him any ornaments. We've made/painted/picked out ornaments together along the way. I try not to lose sleep over the fact that I've completely dropped the ball on this tradition ;)

We don't have cable so my guys are waiting until it shows up on Amazon tomorrow. Sorry your son missed it!

The last 2 years dh has been on call Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year he is not. He writes software for law enforcement agencies and fire departments.
