  4. Cheesy Jane's is fun http://cheesyjanes.com/ Rio Rio on the Riverwalk Michelino's on the Riverwalk It's been several years since we have been but we enjoyed these restaurants while we were there.
  5. If you are on Facebook, like their page. They occasionally have contests on there. Also, check out their website. They do a weekly drawing for the best product review. I won the product review and a couple of weeks later I won one of the fb contests. I never win anything and was so surprised and very happy!!
  6. I love buying homeschool curricula! Rainbow is my favorite place to purchase from. I had a $75 credit with them and that was fun to spend this past week! You can enter their weekly product review contest and if they choose your entry you win a $25 credit. I also won a $50 credit on one of their facebook contests that they had in March.
  7. Yesterday my mom had the little one and dh took my oldest to a paleontology lecture. I was home by myself and it was so nice. Those days are few and far between. I tried to do something fun but I ended up cleaning and then I watched tv for a little bit and then it was time for everyone to be home.
  8. Also The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis
  9. I agree w/ A Grief Observed. Another good one is True Confessions of a Grieving Christian by Zig Ziglar. It is how he dealt with the death of his daughter.
  10. My uncle passed away last year and this year on his birthday he had a couple wish him the best birthday ever...I just figured they did not know he had passed away.
  11. We are going to my sister's house. She said we are having ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, corn on the cob, rolls, peach cobbler and homemade ice cream.
  12. I bought a tablet a few weeks ago--best money spent! My little one loves it, he's learning and it keeps him occupied while I help my oldest.
  13. string cheese, fruit, cherry tomatoes, almonds, peanuts, dried fruit, pretzels, crackers, oatmeal bars, fruit bars, do I dare say cookies ;) He will eat just about anything you put in front of him--this is a list of his favorites. He can't have yogurt--dairy allergy but cheese does not bother him.
  14. My oldest was attached to a blanket that my mom made him. I may be the odd one out here but I let him take it wherever he went. He gave it up sometime between 4-5 years old. By that time it was just a very small piece of what it had once been. I cut it in half--I kept one half and gave the other to my mom. My youngest is attached to of all thing a lalaloopsy doll but he only sleeps with it. He's never even taken it out of his room.
  15. My plan is to make chicken and dumplings but what I want to do is call dh and ask him to bring dinner home.
  16. The song service is probably 80% of the reason we no longer attend church. We thought we had found a church because they 'advertised' their service as traditional hymns...yep that one hymn was during the offertory. The other hour+ was ear-piercing let's act like Jesus is deaf today 'singing'. I want to find a church that preaches the word of God and the goal of worship service is not to get people riled up to pep rally mentality.
  17. Buy some tubs and store what you think your younger daughter might play with. Store sentimental items. Sale or donate a lot of it. Stop buying and ask relatives to stop buying for them. Tell them they can keep x amount of toys and then make them part of the process of weeding out and donating them. When my oldest was little he had more toys than he ever played with. My youngest gets toys for his birthday and Christmas and it is so much more manageable! Good luck!
  18. Mine was in the bank the day they said that they would deposit it. I filed using TaxAct.
  19. I always buy around this time of year--usually coincides with a tax refund. If we don't get a refund I still buy everything by May.
