  1. We used a hs bio book first and then "What's Going On Down There". The later was not really to my liking and if I'd known about this one the, I'd have tried that instead.
  2. He's right! That's what many, many kids do my son included. Here the expensive Legos are put together swiftly and taken down sometimes the same day to create new pieces ds imagined. I know it seems like a 'waste' but it really isn't! Give him his lead.
  3. For clarification, the DVD I was referring to is the TOB for teens. Good luck!
  4. TOB doesn't cover the mechanics but does a good job of explaining the reasons to respect one's body. For what it is worth, a biology book covers the mechanics of it all. For out son, we did the bio and followed up with TOB DVD. (I wasn't thrilled with the book that came with TOB since it is geared more towards groups, imo.)
  5. Oh my, prayers for strength and peace through it all. How horrible for all involved. :grouphug:
  6. You are on the move, lady and a big CONGRATS. Well done!
  7. My folks did this for me several times and I was so very appreciative. Two weeks isn't that long. Now, two months would be a concern. If you are worried about the house perhaps they could be crated when you leave the house? I'd do it in a heartbeat myself.
  8. Pay off the debt and then adjust your witholdings so you aren't loaning a large amount to the government each year. If you adjust witholdings you can bank that money with each pay check and save towards the downpayment. As another said, I'd look at the interest % on any loans and pay down the highest % first. Those at a really low %, would slide. Being debt free is liberating and in this economy and with a recent move, it could be your wisest choice.
  9. Would the seller's carry a mortgage for you for say 6-12 months till you can qualify with an institutional lender? Or, as others suggest, try for a rent to won deal for the same time period? Maybe even offer to pay a higher rate or offer a higher price to appeal to the seller's?
  10. The snoring alone would make me get the separate room....my dh snores horribly so I KNOW. Two rooms will be a blessing , trust me! Have fun!!!
  11. Ugh - I know the feeling! Hope tomorrow is much better.:grouphug:
  12. Yes, agree that it has been quite slow for awhile. Maybe there is just increased traffic?
  13. Wouldn't logging out of yahoo mail and not checking the auto log-in box solve this? Or you can go to wherever the Nook has the "applications" listed and delete all of Yahoo. Maybe someone else will have another suggestion too. Good luck!
  14. Welcome back and you were missed but it is terrific to read of the positive changes with the move and that most everything is good. Best wishes for continued successes with this new beginning!:grouphug:
  15. Second Gulfport since it is closer than Gulf Shores/Orange Beach and the beaches are beautiful. After the oil spill, they replaced all the sand and it is as clean as I have ever seen a beach. I was just there last fall and we did the Gulf SHOres trip in March. Personally, I wouldn't drive the distane to the AL beaches unless this was my destination.Although they are terrific! Have fun!
  16. Been wearing high heels that you are not used to?
  17. I have a 2004 version of Word and with the upgrade, it automatically converts the 2010 file before opening it. Never has been a problem with any of the Office components. You will be fine.
  18. :iagree: Thicker noodle holds the sauce for both. Yummy menu!
  19. We used Sadlier Vocab Workshop from 3rd thru 12th. The 'original' books had wonderful analogies and ds loved working these. Newer books don't probably to correlate with the SAT dropping analogies. But, it is a very solid program and we found that by working thru a chapter a week, ds strengthened his language skills. Didn't need to worry about any vocab prep for the SAT either. they can get tedious for some kids and the answer keys are sometimes hard to come by but I never felt the need for them, if that helps. They are designed for classroom use and you will hear that as a criticism but we never felt that was a hindrance. Excellent at strengthening and expanding vocabulary and the use of the words in sentences plus in short stories are all plusses. Good luck with your decision!
