  1. So sorry. I know the pain of these migraines and how tricky it is to nail down causes since it seems that each individual is different. I can say that I found my own migraines to change dramatically during perimenopause but especially approaching menopause. I remember my GYN wanted me to get scanned since he feared a brain tumor but I knew it was just the blasted migraines shifting and changing. That was me but it is good that YOU got your tests. In my own experience the pain increase horribly with age and the location of the pain shifted from the behind the eyes and down one side of my head and neck/shoulders to the top of my heard as the first symptoms (excruciating pain) and later moved around to what was 'normal'. BUt the pains was so much more intense. SInce hormones are involved with migraines, it makes sense to me that the fluctuating hormones during menopause would cause a change in the migraine patterns. AS to meds, it's trail and error, I think. I never did find one that I felt comfortable with since reading the fine print scared me away. Taking magnesium after menopause has helped tremendously though! SO did accupuncture for awhile. Hope you can find something that works for you!:grouphug:
  2. Just added the link from the email so you can check it out. I have no advice for which is the best....
  3. Amazon is offering 40% off select Kindles and accessories thru 8/15 for those that have an Amazon VISA card. THe code is: KINDLE40 Guess they are preparing for the new Kindle release soon so it's a good bargain. LINK
  4. When magnesium fails me I take Excedrin PM. Never wake up with that groggy feeling that Advil PM gives me. Don't take it more than a few times a year so have no idea what difference it would make taking it a few days in a row. Good luck! Maybe the outdoor air will make it easier to fall asleep!
  5. :iagree: I think it looks cute on her. Such a sweetie!
  6. I like cake alone but I LOVE Italian Cream cake with the icing (butter, sugar, pecans). Other cakes I scrap off the frosting too.
  7. Thanks! I did get a quote from them this morning and a nice conversation. It is a plus that the driver's are employees and this is not a broker. APpreciate your help. Also found this fantastic company in Iowa (love the mid-west reliability!) called Alpine Transport and they were able to get it picked up tomorrow with a weekend delivery. DAS was 10 days delivery. Plus Alpine was $650 cheaper! These guys are amazing in case anyone else needs this service in the future. Dealt with Dave Fountain. Again, appreciate your help and DAS was going to be my choice till I found Alpine.
  8. I have spent two days trying to get a car my ds bought on Ebay delivered before he heads back to college on 8/12 and am really nervous. Anyone know of a reliable FAST transport company? I have quotes like crazy but no hard delivery times. Contracted with one outfit who said they'd pick up the car today then no answers to calls, nor replies to emails nor pick up. Sent a fax and email canceling figuring something must be out there. Any hive families in the shipping business???
  9. Just focus on what a great man your dh is and forget that you had a few NORMAL thoughts when you are responsible for the budget. I have had those thoughts when a charge comes thru that I made but forgot it was ME -humbling! Give that man an extra hug!
  10. File a claim and get AMZ involved. Something similar happened to me recently with AMZ seller. She dumped a paperback textbook into a huge box with no packaging and all of the pages were bent, torn etc due to shipment. I filed a claim and offered to settle for a percentage off the original price. Amazon gave me a full refund. At a minimum, you deserve a break on the price. FOrget the seller and deal with the company!
  11. Wyoming Catholic College Lots of TAC folks teaching there. St. John's is probably the best known.
  12. So sorry and what a run around for treatment. That was ridiculous. Prayers for his health and peace of mind for you all.:grouphug:
  13. Very frustrating. By chance, did you use your credit card for payment through PayPal? Not sure if it would work but you could file a claim via the credit card if you did. Petty response by the seller to 'mark' you negative after all of this. This is yet another example of why the Ebay umbrella can be beneficial for a buyer at least. SO sorry you had to deal with this.
  14. Yes, they are expensive! Maybe the difference is tax? That's what is a hit for our ds. He lives on campus but is going with the cheapest meal plan allowed. You can see why kids want apartments and cook for themselves. I sympathize! Can she just pay as she goes? We considered that since it is an option for ds.
  15. That's just two years away - so I'll be 62. Trust me, 60 really is the new 40:001_smile:
  16. :iagree: Insurance is a scam. Had a similar thing happen so anything of value goes FedX or UPS. We live in a rural area and they don't deliver to a mailbox at our home but to a central location near our home with a bunch of boxes. I learned last Xmas after a cake kindly delivered and left at our gate by the postal lady disappeared that the workers are not allowed or supposed to do so without a signed release from you. She now calls me when she has something that doesn't fit and I meet her to pick it up. UPS and FedX leave things in plastic bags all the time here too. SOrry for your frustration but insuring it would have been a bigger nightmare in the long run imho.
  17. Anna Quindlen's "Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake". Delightful! Like sitting down with an old friend. Great light read with humor and wisdom.
  18. Shrimp quesadillas? Buy the shrimp precooked, cheese already grated, tortillas premade, cilantro as well as guacamole and sour cream, salsa on the side. Can serve with rice or beans. Buy some fancy pastries for dessert. My inlaws always think this is a fuss! I like the rib idea too! And then just make bananas Foster for dessert. Folks think that is special but it's a snap.
  19. I have no idea what it means. I cannot even tell if it menas that you subtract (-) the $3400. Since it is twice the 1600 feet maybe that has some significance? A mystery. Sorry.
  20. My suggestion would be to use the EBay "resolve a Problem" and work through them rather than directly with the seller. You have Buyer Protection with Ebay and these seem like good candidates for that. Stick to your guns. Ebay IS fair but you need to be persistent. Good luck!
  21. Awww..love it! Imp, your posts are always a treat. Enjoy that Boo and all the future conversations too.
  22. Well done!!!! Proud of you mama. I am cut from the same cloth and my offspring find it embarrassing, at least for now. We need more of this behavior, I say.
