  1. Thanks - I think so too but his Dad is not sure about it!:tongue_smilie:
  2. By initial reaction is that the word is outdated. Yep. I associate it with the bra burning days and early Gloria Steinem but I'm probably the oldest replying ;) My son would probably consider himself a feminist. He took a Women's Study class as a dual enrollment course while in high school at the professor's request and now is a staunch supporter of women's rights. Of course he is 18...and thinks that men have made up a lot of 'stories' about women to prepetuate their own feathered nests. Maybe he is right? Great question!
  3. Another vote for breeder A. Just sounds like it will be more collaborative and the training is a huge plus! What fun to be getting a puppy - you will fall in love with any of them, I bet.
  4. Could be. Saline spray is a must to keep the nostril moist and drinking LOTS of water too. We live at 8500 feet and I find that when I go to sea level and then return, I still get headaches and a stuffy nose plus an less energetic. Youth surely are less likely to feel the weight but the dryness and hydration are issues for all.
  5. Nope. Messing with hormones can have results down the road that might not be anticipated. For me, it was life long migraines. Not worth it.
  6. :grouphug: Sometimes it seems like dysfunction is restricted to our family alone but it abounds. As PP suggested, reach out to your niece, keep in touch and forget about the others for now. Sounds like they are swimming in their own problems and probably it has never crossed their minds that they are neglecting you, you know?:grouphug:
  7. Did you know that a dad to homeschooler who worked at Apple was responsible for this? It's been in place for a long time now and we love it too! (I know this only because the dad's family was using the same umbrella school we did.)
  8. Crazy. I am very selective these days about where list items for sale. Ebay and places that buy back are now my favorites. Sorry, I know how irritating this can be.
  9. Well, Marie Callander does it....:001_smile: so I would think the answer is yes.
  10. Sounds akin to the 'counseling' these diet centers give. The only time I ever did it with Jenny Craig and that was a waste of time and money. If this is truly something you want to pursue, I might suggest contacting your local diet places and offering your services. Credentials are important when anyone is paying for advice so if you were under their umbrella it might be a benefit to both parties. For me, I'd stick to the internet and books.
  11. Sometimes we all need a break from each other...let him go. Don't make a big deal out of it and enjoy the time away as will your dd. Some battles are not that important in the long run.
  12. Six kids and not yet 30! give yourself a break, dear lady. Seriously. I would venture to say that first, you are 'tired' and second, you need a little time with adults. As for accomplishments? Well, I think you have a full plate and are doing an amazing job already. Anyway to carve out time just for you each and every week and do something alone or with a friend? Plus, naps?? WHen you are exhausted, everything seems like a major problem, even one's faith. Might sound too simple but I would venture to say it couldn't hurt to rest up! :grouphug:
  13. :iagree: I was going to say the same thing particularly the suggestion to do a physical science courses instead. I think following your gut is smart!
  14. Prayers for peace and :grouphug: My Dad was at home for his passing and it was so important to him.
  15. Fall, after kids are in school. Spring can bring late snow storms...
  16. :iagree: Guess I always thought there was at least another student in the car too.
  17. Have you checked the OASIS site? They list all of the accompanying materials with each book/product and allow you to order directly. WE found it the easiest way to acquire teacher materials. Oasis - Pearson oasis.pearson.com/
  18. Hey, if the temps are crazy in either direction, the airlines will not fly a pet so just a heads up. I ran into this a few times in my former life when trying to get my pup back to Chicago. It's for the pet's health so I understand but if you are new to all of this it can be a surprise.
  19. If you have the money, maybe you could dig the hole before the freeze and the snow and have it ready for when you get the septic to drop it in? Just a thought. Building always has its snags. Always. Sorry for this set back.
  20. Well done!!! Congrats and you will most certainly do great before the board. Love to hear of successes!
