  1. Our dentist will recommend sealants more strongly for patients that have deeper grooves in the molars. This is me. Others in my family she has not suggested sealants for. She will also do them on adults. I like them. I could tell a difference in how much food got stuck in my molars before and after.
  2. I big puffy heart the Great Brain books. I feel that the message in the book doesn't shy around those bad things, but through frankness shows that they are wrong and the bad consequences that can come from them. I don't think that the reader is supposed to identify with the Great Brain, rather, John is the character I always empathized the most with. That said, not everyone likes the same things. It's okay if the Great Brain is not your thing. There are books I really hate that I know many love. I know people that love them. I just don't. And it's okay to disagree!
  3. I carry: Wallet Keys Phone Chapstick 2 Pocketknives (one single blade, one multitool) Safety pins One cosmetic bottle One medication bottle Sunglasses Menstrual cup Flossers receipts that always need to be cleaned out Pretty much I just aim for the essentials that would get me through a whole day without being able to run back to the car constantly. In order to conveniently carry said essentials, I recently got a new purse with more pockets because I wanted to be able to organize my stuff and not just have it in a big jumble at the bottom of the purse, as was the case with my previous one. This one is also cross-body and has two external zipper pockets, one internal zipper pocket, two internal "slip in" pocket slots, and the back has an open pocket. My wallet and keys go in the main internal space. Menstrual cup, flosser, and random safety pins go in the internal zipper pocket. Chapstick and pocketknives go in one of the outer zipper pockets, a medication bottle in the other outer zipper. Sunglasses and a cosmetic bottle go in the internal slip in slots. Receipts and phone go in the back open pocket. So far I like this system. Previously my keys and junk were scratching up my phone. This seems to work well and it's easy to keep tidy. Because the purse is not very wide I can't really cram much more into the main body. I could fit a small book in there if I wanted to really pack it.
  4. You can use last year's info to estimate for this year. Then after you do 2015 taxes you will just need to submit a correction. Echoing PPs who say submit as soon as possible since you'll have a better chance at more aid.
  5. Many prayers!! May God grant strength and peace to everyone involved. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  6. I would just say: no, sorry, I can't give a refund. All the fees were spent on supplies; that is why I stated in the beginning that there would be no refunds.
  7. I once asked a question like this to our priest and he said that the first 10% ought to go to the home (as in regular) church because that is where we are fed. I suspect this is a question to which the answer varies widely depending on whom you ask.
  8. Would something like this or this work? I have a carry-on size older model of this brand and it's nice quality.
  9. LL Bean - comforter covers, and I would assume, sheets, since they are the same material as the comforter covers. I got my down comforter from Ikea and am very pleased with it. Surprisingly, the actual sheets I have are from Target and they're plenty nice.
  10. How long has it been in the freezer? I would probably use it unless it had been in the freezer a very long time because the cheapskate in me couldn't stand to see it go to waste. If it hasn't been in the freezer overly long I would hope that it hasn't gotten too freezer burned.
  11. Female over 18: I vote no for the reasons everyone has already stated.
  12. This test is really accurate for myself, friends, and family who've tried it. It can peg the majority of us to the major cities closest to where we grew up. It's kind of amazing!
  13. I would put MIL in the guest room, son and DIL downstairs in basement. The baby thing is weird to me, but it is true that the guest room will likely make a better place for the baby to nap during the days, too.
  14. What the heck?? I mean, what the heck??? Who suggests something like this??? I'm sorry, OP. Many hugs and prayers for you, your daughter, and family.
  15. Cheese and spinach ravioli, eggplant parmesan, white lasagna, or something else Italian.
  16. A little unsure of what I should have answered on the poll. I live in a 20-25K city, but am about 30-45 min. from a 600K city. I don't consider where I live to be in the big city, but it probably is considered part of the metro area. I don't like the big city and never want to live there.
  17. I would totally eat them unless they smelled off. It's just one day. Expiration dates are only estimations, generous ones. I agree with what Tap said above.
  18. I find topics like this a little depressing. We love our dog, but we can't even afford to feed the humans in the family boneless skinless chicken breasts on a regular basis. We feed Costco brand; no issues to date. Our last dog lived for 13 years (Australian shepherd mix). We have an 8 month border collie puppy now. Sorry about the threadjack, OP. Wish you the best of luck finding something that will work for your doggy!
  19. When do we get to find out what the city is??? I have literally been checking this thread all day. OP, where are you? You're keeping us all in suspense!!
  20. Seattle or Portland.... What we always say here is that "true Oregonians never use umbrellas!" :)
  21. Just don't do what I did today, which was buy a hazelnut chocolate bar and eat the whole thing. . . :svengo: You can do it!!!
