  1. I said yes, but only because we just bought new shoes for all of the kids as they'd outgrown their old ones. Lol.
  2. This story is just absurd. I can't even believe it. :( Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  3. If it's a barfing illness or something like the flu that is highly contagious but doesn't show up for awhile, we'd all stay home. Otherwise, my kids are old enough that I typically have a built-in sitter for activities where I'd need to leave someone home. I'd drop off the healthy kid or arrange a ride for the healthy kid if possible.
  4. :001_wub: That puppy is adorable! I'm glad you guys were able to make the right choice for your family and then able to see that it truly does seem to be working out for the best for all of those involved.
  5. So sorry you're going through this! :grouphug: Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  6. When DD had a broken thumb over the summer, we went to the Dr them got the xray and went straight back down to the Dr who informed us it was, indeed, broken. We were told the same day. I'd think their lack of response indicates it's not broken. But who knows...hopefully he feels better soon. I'd be angry too and looking for a new Dr asap. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  7.  Woohoo!!!!! I'm so excited for you!!!! 4 kids is AWESOME!!!!!!! PS- I'm sorry your family wasn't excited for you. Hopefully, they'll come around.
  8. I've had 4 c-sections. I had my tubes tied after that last one and was told in the operating room that it was a wise decision. My uterus didn't look like it could handle another pregnancy at that point. Something about lots of scar tissue was mentioned as well. As for your situation, your age wouldn't be the issue I would worry about. Its what your doctor had already said that would worry me. I'd talk to her about this and get medical advice on it before anything else. ;) Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  9. The Dell Outlet online often has great deals. I would start there. I'd also look at the Best Buy website for Dell and/or HP laptops. Those are my go-to brands that we love. We do NOT love Windows 8 however. It's clunky and not super user-friendly in my opinion.
  10. I like Beatrice and don't think it's strange at all! You all love it, so you should go ahead and use it. :) Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  11. Yes they can. I have a few that have developed in my adult years- food dyes (cause migraines) and dairy come to mind. Hopefully you can figure out your itching!! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  12. We do smell and feel here too on the off times that the meat actually lasts that long in the house. ;) On another note, we can't ever go by the date because our deli uses the "sell by date" location on the package to mark the date they packaged it.
  13. Without the extra e. As others have said, she is dooming her to a misspelled name for life if she adds the e. Plus it makes me want to say "Eleanora." Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  14. It sounds like you're going through sugar detox. It takes ten days on average (according to DS15's health class last year, lol) to get through it before feeling better. Good luck!
  15. I vote compliment. Lol. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  16. I have no idea who he is but like other posters, I'm glad to see the article. Too often people see homeschooling or brick and mortar schooling as the only way. But at our house, education is decided on an individual basis. What's good for one may not work for another. You know? So it's nice to see he is embracing a B and M school for half his kids. :) Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  17. I'm sorry, but this is a great assignment. By the end of the series you are left realizing that the United States IS the capital. It's a comparison that is eye opening to the way we are allowing the world to work right now. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  18. As others have said, only the illness that caused the ear infection is contagious. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  19. This sort of describes DS12 and is one reason he is trying public school in the fall. :leaving: We have had conversation after conversation about not annoying people on purpose. He always turns on the water works and acts remorseful...we end up having the same conversation again anyway. Typically, I give him a job to do, a book to read, something that removes him from the room. Good luck, OP. Clearly I haven't come up with any good solutions. :( Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  20. That's so scary. I'm glad he is ok! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  21. I felt like it was a great read. It's really about the dad dealing with the death of his daughter and his anger with God over the issue. He ends up "dreaming" about meeting God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in a cabin where he spends the majority of the book interacting with them. I personally loved it and would recommend it. ;) Eta: Keeping your daughter's current emotional state in mind though, I don't know that it's a good one for her right now though. The suggestion of reading Joni was a great one. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  22. I've been making my older boys share the burden of the read aloud with each other. We will probably add some math and reading next week. Plus I'll have DD read our science book to YDS. That may be all we do for this week. And thankfully, I'm now feeling so much better. I have this annoying cough now though that I didn't have before the antibiotics. Maybe they're loosening up some mucus? Idk... Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  23. Ok, that was about the funniest thread ever! [emoji38] Thanks for sharing it!! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
