I do double batches in the cooler/cold months. I've only froze pre-cooked meals, some are a little undercooked. I just thaw in the refrigerator and reheat the next day. My fav. recipe books are the old LLL ones.

Sometimes the allergy crustiness can lead to pinkeye. For now, wash your eyes every couple hours with baby shampoo. It helps if you first, before washing, hold a hot, wet washcloth over your eyes for about five minutes. Sometimes the heat and basic sanitation can help your body manage the allergies and fight the infection.

No. Does her phone not dial out or is her computer unable to e-mail? I would resent the manipulation, and ignore the irate e-mails. (Now, I say all this after putting up and bending over backwards for years to keep my mil happy and finally learning that it isn't worth the stress.) I treat her kindly, with respect and lovingly, but with boundaries. The book Boundaries, by Cloud and Townsend is/was very helpful.

The secrecy behind giving it would concern me given the amount. In all honesty, I'd probably take the money (possibly putting it into a savings or what ever for the entire clan); then I'd thank him in writing from each and every member of the family. It's the not so subtle, but nice way to let him know I'm the momma.

We have 8 smoke detectors and 1 carbon, and replace the batteries twice a year when we spring forward and fall back.

Check Lowe's and Home Depot; they can get them if they aren't in the store. We have a Maytag.

Inconsiderate, and imo pretty hard-hearted and mean.
