Nam2001
Any suggestions for relatively short (30 min or less) workout videos similar to something like Body pump or Sculpt classes at a ymca? I’d prefer to not have to have a monthly subscription, so either free or DVDs. Thanks!
extendedforecast
I’m not familiar with those classes, but YouTube has so many videos. Also check out fitnessblender.com. They have free videos and programs (for a small fee). If it wasn’t for the bad WiFi connection in my workout space, aka garage, I’d be a loyal customer of theirs. 4
Negin
I'm not familiar either, but I assume that you're talking about strength training? Like you, I'm not a fan of monthly subscriptions. I agree about Fitness Blender. They're one of my favorite channels that I subscribe to on YouTube. They don't come out with new ones as often as they used to, but they have so many workout videos to choose from. Jessica Smith is another favorite of mine. She has lots of videos as well. She also has DVDs on amazon, etc. Most of her videos are walking-type workouts, but she also has strength training, If it is strength training that you're looking for: Cathe Friedrich, Jari Love, and Kelly Coffey-Meyer (she has lots of 30-minute videos and she has a few videos on YouTube, I believe) - are worthj looking into as well. Kassia
Also, check your library for DVDs - ours has a lot of Kelly Coffey-Meyer and Jari Love workouts available. 1
Beth S
I use Bikini Body Mommy on youtube. She has birthed 5 babies, and (I think) has lost nearly 100 pounds post-partum with Babies #3 & 4 . . . and now is working to do so after Baby #5. Free 90 day workouts (we're at Day 66 or so of her 8th series). You can join her premium group for more materials, but it's not essential. She's very humorous, other family members make delightful appearances, & you can scale it up or down for your needs. She shares on IG too. Just a really fun 20-minute daily workout (which you can do twice, if you wish, etc.) Edited July 19, 2019 by Beth S 1

hshibley
Are you looking for something you can do at home or do you still have a gym membership? I had been taking bodypump at the y for months but recently switched to using the workout routines in the book Strong. It takes about 30 minutes excluding interval training but I run a lot instead. mmasc
My favorite is the fitness blender No Equipment Butt and Thigh lower body workout coupled with the XHIT Daily How to get rid of arm fat. Together, they’re a little over 30 min 2

alisoncooks
I have a ton of Kelly Coffey-Meyer (30 minute to fitness) DVDs. For strength, I'd recommend: Sculpting Rx, Weights, Muscle Up, LIFT, Muscle Definition, Your Best Body, and workout 2 from Cardio Pump. I also enjoy Jessica Smith's videos (tons of freebies). I like Jari Love but most of hers are looong (but her Body Rock DVD has a 30 minute weight workout that's great!) 2

Thank you for sharing. 1 hour ago, extendedforecast said: How do you download YouTube videos? Do you need to have the paid version of YouTube? No. When you say download, do you mean to have and to keep on your own hard drive? Or, do you mean just to watch. You can do either without a paid version of YouTube. I have downloaded many in the past, especially those that are not from well-known channels. If I like a video, think that it's worth keeping, and I'm worried about it possibly being removed by YouTube or whatever, I download a copy for myself. I use this link and download it to MP4 version. You can also google "YouTube to mp4" and see what comes up. I just want to add that I first heard from Fitness Blender here on these boards and am forever grateful! For the longest while, I paid little attention, incorrectly thinking that it wouldn't be my cup of tea. Now I love their videos. I pick and choose what I want. I subscribe to a few channels: Fitness Blender, Jessica Smith, and some yoga ones as well.

Lanny
My wife and DD are doing https://ddpyoga.com/pages/ddpyoganow It is a Fitness program so please do not let the word Yoga turn you off on the possibility of using this program. You can try it, Free, for 7 days, and then if you like it you can continue, either with Streaming as my wife has done (she paid for 3 months of service, after the Free 7 day Trial) or you can buy DVDs, etc. The reason my wife continued with the program was that she saw excellent and obvious results, within the Free 7 day trial, in her physical condition, that made what she paid for the next 3 months of service, well worth the cost. Good luck with whatever program you use! 2

No-- I used a free youtube downloader. The one I used before (savefrom.net) did not work for me today. There are some instructions here: https://www.pcmag.com/news/331905/how-to-download-youtube-videos There are some programs you can purchase or there are also the free sites--it gives some warnings about what to avoid (advertisements that seem like part of the site, etc.). Matryoshka
I have no specific videos to recommend, because I don't seem constitutionally capable of motivating myself to workout at home regularly... But, I just noticed that our library is now stocking a whole bunch of workout videos free to stream on Overdrive, just to give another option as I'm guessing other libraries are doing the same... 2

How much time does it take per day or week?
lynn
I like Autumn Clabrese on Pop Sugar they can be found on you tube. Pop Sugar has tons of videos to choose from in your workout time frame.

One of the trainers/participants in many of the videos annoys me (my issue, not hers), so I avoid them for that reason. But they’re decent workouts. One more thing I just remembered is that a lot of the videos are short. I remember having to stack a couple of videos to get a complete workout. They may have more options now.
