Amy in NH
A fb friend was complaining that she bought her toddler a first set of undies at Wal-Mart, and the elastic waistbands all came loose after only a week. Some other posters commiserated about similar problems with clothing purchased at other stores. Anyone have a current recommendation for better quality children's clothes? Ausmumof3
Gymboree underwear and socks are expensive but they seem to hold shape and the socks don't get holes too quickly.
Kiara.I
For underwear: H&M Gymboree Actually, Joe Fresh isn't too bad. For clothes, Gymboree, Gap
Wabi Sabi
Hanna Andersson is expensive, but my super scrawny daughter whose waist hasn't increased in circumference in years can has been wearing the same ones I bought her when she potty trained at age 2 and she's 9 now!
slackermom
I sometimes found decent little kid underwear at old navy. My kid has always had sensory issues, and didn't like exposed elastic. This kind is covered, and it lasts a long time. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1067241&pcid=42311&vid=1&pid=491803012
Guest
Gymboree has been good for us. But our hanes haven't ripped up overly quickly either.
hellen
We've never had trouble with any brand of girl underwear but boy underwear is constructed differently. Hanna Andersson is the best. It doesn't have exposed elastic at the waistband. My son loved them when he was little. My youngest daughter passionately loves Hanna Andersson underwear.
sgo95
Another vote for Hanna Andersson--enclosed elastic, and lasts for years and years.

Davysmom
Hanna Andersson are the best!! The not only hold up, but they don't outgrow them like ones from the store. They last for years.
almondbutterandjelly
Hanna Andersson lasts for years and years and years. Encased elastic, flat seams. In fact, my 16 year old refuses to wear anything else. She's in the xl girls size and needs to move up soon. I joyfully discovered last night that they are starting to make women's sizes. Yay!

desertstrawberry5
Luna has a few sets of these. https://www.amazon.com/Babyfriend-Washable-Training-Underwear-TP5-001/dp/B014SL7INI/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1499694295&sr=8-5&keywords=training+pants They come in tiny sizes, are super cute, for well, and have held up great. She wears them outside in the desert and they can handle that abuse. They have no padding. The inside is Terry cloth. They are not plasticky or crinkly. They are pretty gender neutral, but there are more boyish sets, with a frog, boat, police car, etc. They are comfy, cute, and really affordable. Luna is small and wears a 90. I think they go up to 120, which is around a 3t, I think. Edited July 10, 2017 by desertstrawberry5

Do you how hard it was to find anything they liked after they outgrew HA? This made my day. I have always did they needed adult sizes! pinkmint
In my experience walmart brand underwear (Geranimals for toddlers) is basically throwing money in the garbage. Hanes for toddlers is a few dollars more for a package and lasts pretty well on my big beefy active 3 yo.
solascriptura
I just get undies without the exposed elastic. They really do seem to last longer.
snickerplum
Another vote for Hanna Andersson. Primary.com is another good place to look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Paige
I usually buy Fruit of the Loom or some other similar brand- not Garanimals- and have never had a problem. My DD will be 10 and is super tiny and I just now removed from her closet some of the underwear I bought her when she first switched out of diapers- 2ts and 3ts. Many of those were hand me downs from her older sisters. The elastics were fine.
MercyA
I've been happy with Children's Place underwear, but I only buy the kind with covered elastic waists. They usually have free shipping and it looks like a lot of their undies are 50% off right now. I'm pretty sure they didn't wear out before my daughter outgrew them. Hanna is good quality, but we found that their undies fit a bit oddly.
Suzanne in ABQ
Came to plug Gymboree, only to discover that I'm fourth to recommend it. Gymboree's underwear and socks never seem to wear out. They can actually be passed down to siblings.
SKL
Hmm, my 10yo is finally wearing out the undies I bought at WalMart 9 years ago. :P I've never actually had a problem with girl undies not lasting. Maybe quality has changed since 2008. :P
AmandaVT
I get DS these and they hold up really well.
tammyw
Hanna Anderson underwear is the best for my son, lasts forever, and he can wear multiple sizes because they are so forgiving. He's a very slim kid.
MommyLiberty5013
The Children's Place. Really well made. Cute designs too.
