Audrey
I wish you all a beautiful season, no matter what you call it or how you celebrate it. Happy Solstice. Blessed Yule. Merry Christmas. Happy Chanukkah. Happy Kwanzaa. And joy to the Festivus and Hogswatch celebrants, too. Peace, Audrey

Guest
Thank you, Audrey. I went to a party at a friend's house which was a Winter Solstice party. She read a poem and explained a little about solstice traditions as her family has done for years. It was fascinating...I have never thought about awaiting the return of the sun and keeping watch by candlelight. So happy return of the sun!

nd293
I always feel, physically, the turning point. From here on out, it just gets better and better. Let there be light! We have light to spare here in Australia. We spent a lovely day celebrating the summer solstice - early morning walk and swim at the beach and a picnic overlooking a river. And now I am going to optimistically start counting down to winter! Happy Solstice
